F***ing DVDPacific!

Chris Gould (Elite) posted this on Saturday, 2nd September 2006, 13:10

Placed two separate orders for some DVDs, both of which were below the customs threshold. Aside from waiting ages for them to ship the bloody things, they sent them all in one big box and I got hammered for £8.06 customs/handling charges, totally negating any savings I might have made! W***ers! I paid for two lots of postage as well!

Suffice to say it`s the first and last time I buy anything from DVDPacific. Tossers. So, back to looking for another decent R1 supplier.

Oh, and what`s worse is that the declared value was only £20! So an extra £8 for being £2 over! Arghhhh!

I used to use DVDImport, but won;t touch them now they`re affiliated with the old DVDSoon. I hear they`ve gone right downhill as well. They used to take ages to ship, but the prices were so good I could live for it. Only paid a fiver for the new SE of First Contact when it was still the best part fo £20 over here. Movietyme ship early, but are too expensive. CD-Wow have gone to crap... Quite depressing.

I think it`s more accurate to say they are now buried under the hill as both of these are now gone and hopefully concreted in, never to rise again.

Sorry to hear about your DVD Pacific experience. Never had an iota of trouble with them though they still mark down to France (not that French Customs are the slightest bit interested).
Did you make sure that the right boxes were ticked so they didn`t combine your order? If you did, then why not e-mail them and ask them why they sent things together? Also ask them for a refund of the Customs charge back as it`s their fault.

After DVD Pacifics credit card fiasco which cost me £22.00 I recently gave them another chance.

I ordered a dvd and it was clearly in stock when I ordered it.

Lo and behold 2 days after my order it goes out of stock so I am left with no dvd.

Queried this with them and they told me they were awaiting new stock, so why was it listed as in stock when it was not?

That happened to me once, so I now only place an order with them once the previous order has been posted. Despite the credit card fiasco, they are still my first port of call for R1 DVDs.

Tell me about it. The last three things I`ve ordered have meant a wait of 2-3 weeks each.

Still, at least thats better than eBay. Got two copies of the same DVD from two seperate sellers (each with thousands of good feedback) and they were both pirates.

I`ve ordered 3 things from DVD Pacific in the past, and haven`t recieved any of them.

Also, for good cheap DVD`s from abroad, I always use the Oz site ezydvd.com.

Did you select the correct shipping option? You have 3 choices at DVD Pacific when checking out. The default is to ship and combine. If you want seperate orders to ship as ordered you need to select hold till complete shipping option. This is one great thing about DVD Pacific that gives you the ability to have seperate orders or any order ship exactly as you want with their different options. I suspect you did not select the correct shipping option as have never had a problem like this.
