ToolStation

Just a recommendation for this firm - excellent customer service, and quick turnaround. They are run by the son of the founder of screwfix, and have the service levels that screwfix used to give before they were bought by B&Q and turned crap. Not the same range of goods at the moment, but equally good prices.

Thanks for that Uncharged_Water. I`d heard that they were getting back into the business a little while ago (as you say, B&Q managed to mess it up!), now I can find them when I`ll next need them.

Have you tried switching it on........?

Re Screwfix :)

I have used them for quite a few years now and TBH I see no difference in their standard/quality of service before or after B&Q bought them out.
Good example being when I had a problem with a Pillar Drill.
Phoned them at 14:00 hrs Wed. and received a replacement, next day, AM Thursday no fuss no hassle and no questions.
In all I have ordered a good few thousand pounds worth of workshop tools/hinges/power tools/cordless tools/cables/aerials and many other items and have always been extremely pleased with their service.
Extremely pleased with not only the sales/after sales service but the pleasant and very courteous manner they have dealt with me if I have any reason to telephone them.

That said I will have a wee swatch at ToolStation anywho :)

Cant praise this online company enough. Used them for the first time a couple of weeks ago, ordered a couple of items (below £40) so had to pay for their next day express delivery, which was only a fiver. Ordered on Sunday, so expected delivery on Tuesday. Toolstation dispatched items on Monday as promised, but Parcelforce failed to deliver on Tuesday. A quick email to Toolstation, and within an hour a very helpful chap called Ross phoned me, apologised for the delay, had chased up parcelforce, and refunded my delivery charge!

Although the value of my purchase was small, the level of service was superb. I will definately be using them again.

I must say I`ve had naff service off both toolstation and screwfix.

Moved from Screwfix when their delivery went missing and they then refused to refund or send out the items again (luckily the owner of the back yard where the parcel had been dumped in the rain came round with it)

Toolstation have twice just sat on my orders for 3 days without explaining why or apologising, once I asked that they send the delayed order out on a saturday and they refused unless I pay the saturday premium! Then both the same 2 times missed stuff off the order without saying anything, or again apologising. As I do work for clients I`ve twice had to delay estimated delivery dates for them, something toolstation and screwfix don`t seem to give anything of a toss about.

However to be fair, the prices are mega cheap so I continue to use toolstation, but I wish they would sort themselves out!
