Index to close 126 stores
Just heard on the news that Index are closing down 126 stores. Anybody know how to find out which stores ?

Looks like all index stores inside littlewood stores are almost certain to close.

yup, all index stores be it stand-alone or in-store ones are to close. 33 are being sold to GUS, owners of argos. Also looks like Littlewoods as a whole is going to go in the near future as well.

I wouldn`t think that has been announced yet , but by the look of the story , the stores which will close would be those that don`t have an existing Argos store nearby (as the ones which are being kept open are being bought by GUS and converted to Argos).
Hmm , wonder if there will be a closing down sale (knew there was a bargain there somewhere ;) )

So... where`s the bargain?
RE: Index to close 126 stores
The bargain hopefully will be in the stock clearance

Except that Littlewoods sell trash..... I`ve yet to buy anything from Littlewoods that hasn`t developed a fault or been of shoddy quality and regretted buying from them.
You may have gathered that I won`t be at any Littlewoods closing down sales.

Am I the only one that thinks there`s a question of taste. . .as it`s announced a good many people are about to be made redundant, the first sign of action on here is a post trying to pick the carcass for bargains.
C`est la vie I guess.

Yes, you`re the only one, which is unfortunate but true.
i noticed a similar thing when Allders closed won recenlty. I went in there to see if there were any bargains, I had never seen the store so busy, then it occured to me I was one of many vultures :(
I think though it`s one thing to hope a shop closes down, and another to take advantage once it has happened.
