Dvd Soon - Dvd lost in post

Gaz Kitch (Elite) posted this on Saturday, 8th January 2005, 12:02

Has anyone ever had a dvd go missing in the post from Dvd Soon? I placed an order for The Simpsons - Season 5 - which was posted out on the 22 December, but it still hasn`t arrived. My guess is, that it will probably not turn up now.

How do I go about getting a replacement copy? I was reading through their terms and conditions and i think it stated that you should take out insurance against loss when you purchase the dvd. Does this mean I am stuffed?

Regards
Gaz

I think you have to wait for 30 days. If it hasn`t arrived check your account as I think you can claim against lost parcels, and they refund you fully.

I lost a couple of parcels, and e-mailed them, and they refunded me. It was a pain because I had to wait 30 days, but I got my money back (or at least a voucher to spend on something else).

My copy of La Femme Nikita which was posted on 21 December, 2004, arrived this morning so there is every chance that your disc set will arrive early next week.

Yeah, give it a week or so before jumping to conclusions about it being lost. It`ll probably turn up.

I`m telling you, 9 times out of 10, DVD Soon just strap your parcel to a dolphin...

That would explain those water tight jiffy bags that they always come in then. ;)

I`ve found DVDSoon to be totally unreliable.I`ve just received my copy of Super Monkey Ball 2 that I ordered on Nov6th and still haven`t received Zelda Four Swords which I ordered on Nov12th.I`ve written a couple of e-mails and have had no response.

It surely shouldn`t take more than 2 months 2 deliver a couple of the biggest Gamecube titles.
Goes without saying: I won`t be ordering from them again.

I would not worry too much, though you have to be patiened IF the parcel has been `lost`...

If you log into your account, on the right hand site there is a menu Learn About...
If you click on the item "Replacing Items" you are able to request an item replacement, you only need the order nr.

BUT only after the official "Delivery Time" has gone by for the Shipping Method you selected. For standard carrier international orders this is (are you ready?) 45 business days. Business days, so that is 9 weeks.

The good part of this story is that, once this period has gone by, you can easily request a replacement by using the "Replacing Items" link in your account. You have to sign an affidavit and sent it by post or fax. After that, you will get a free replacement.

Mine arrived safely.

Note: my experience with DvdSoon is that they are slow in shipping a package, but once it is shipped, it`s in The Netherlands within a week and never claimed by customs.

I should hope not. Unless you`re ordering the entire back catalogue of "How To Mangle A Human Corpse" by Jeffrey Dahmer, they`re only there to charge you fees on the item! ;)

Seriously though, if you`re getting £18+ packages through from DVD Soon without attracting customs` attention, you must have a hearty guardian angel paying them off, or giving them blowjobs.

Sorry to state the obvious. But has it occurred to you to check with your local post office, as this Box Set, would have been stopped for Customs. So they may still have it there?

:) DVDSOON are one of the cheapest retailers around. They are never the quickest and if you can`t wait, order elsewhere! I had a batch of 5 separate DVDs go missing at the end of last year and they were replaced without question.

If you want imediate response to emails and quick delivery then these people are not for you, however there are people who charge more and have less customer service than DVDSOON.
