Empire Direct - Thoughts please

mib150 (Competent) posted this on Wednesday, 29th December 2004, 09:44

Dear all

Hope you all had a good Xmas, all the best for the New Year!

Anyhow.........I`m looking at buying a Toshiba 36ZP48 from Empire Direct, same price as Currys but comes with Dolby Surround.

Anybody had dealing with Empire Direct before I take the plunge??

Thanks

Mib.

Got my TV from them, no problems.

Ordered a digital camera from them, then cancelled it, then got charged for it, then received it. Gave me a refund no problem, but could have been dealt with more cleanly.

Have ordered from them in the past and will again.

That model comes with 5.1 surround built-in no matter where you buy it from.
If Currys are really the same price as Empire Direct (which sounds doubtful) then I`d buy it from Currys.
With the best will in the world no-one buys off the net for better service.
If the local shops were just as cheap as the net we`d all go to the local shop, wouldn`t we ??

I thinknot my good man.

The model from Currys is a 36ZP46P (Web exclusive price £999.00), from Empire it is 36ZP48P (£998.52). No dolby on the 46 I checked yesterday. The old 38P black Picture Frame did have though!

Found out by chance about the 48 on another forum:

Cheers

So they`re not the same model then,as stated in your first thread.
In which case you`re not comparing like for like.
So Empire Direct wins.

I bought a VCR/DVDR combi from Empire Direct. No problems at all. Very quick delivery.
