There`s around 1000 plots around here at the moment (though some more are on the way apparently), and a waiting list of about 500...

We have a couple of raised beds in the garden this year specifically for veg (shouldn`t have put the potato sacks next to the beds though as the overhanging foliage from them killed one corner of the bed).

Might harvest some more potatoes tonight with the kids (mine and the ones the oh minds), Ellis thought it was like hunting for treasure the other day

Just got fuschia`s in our HB`s

Had our first crop of potatoes last night, as well as some peas and cabbage leaves from the garden. Radishes/salad leaves have already been eaten, broccolli/cauliflower just coming through. Also got leeks, onions, spring onions, carrots, beetroot on the go.

Also just put myself on the waiting list for an allotment, though the waiting list is about 3 years at the moment...

Was walking the dog the other day, walking along a cycly/pedestrain path that has a subway under a major road, was halfway through the subway when some twat on a quad decided to use it as a shortcut, dog was petrified and I wasn`t best pleased.

Also have kids on scramblers issues in the local wood, they also ruined a meadow nearby (which is now fenced off to walkers as well because of their selfishness, a shame really as it`s a lovely spot for people to see the local wildlife)

Anyone else had a go yet? Not sure myself (doesn`t help that I get killed an awful lot which isn`t that enjoyable). I like the new classes, but not sure it`s different enough to hold my attention.

Had a play at the weekend with Mint, so far so good. Installed a couple of things that weren`t available through the software manager which was a bit of a learning process, and having a PC that boots within 30 seconds is nice...

I still watch a lot of stuff on my PSP. If you have a .avi of the film great, if not I use FairUse Wizard to get an avi, then use PSPVideo9 to convert (or PSPVC, but I`ve had problems with that lately).

Just got given a spare PC by work to have a play with and considering sticking a Linux based OS on it, what`s the most beginner friendly one to stick on it?

It`s an HP dc7600, not sure on processor at the moment but it`s a Pentium 4 of some type.

I don`t think we ever had a health visitor visit after Ellis..

We had one of the midwives round after a couple of days of being home but that was it. That said we always seem to get `missed` for things like this, and I know of friends in the area who seemed to get a few visits.

Sounds like a right loon though, wouldn`t be answering the door to her again.

PC/Retailer Recommendations

Just after some recommendations for decent onlince PC sellers with good customer service/deals.

Mum is after a new PC, only wants a base unit. Used maily for online MMO`s (lotr/wow) so wants an decent spec at a decent price. She was looking at Scan (spec she sent over was still using an E5200 which I thought was quite old).

Managed to brick my PSP :(

Added the plugin to speed up MS access, psp went a bit glitchy when playing media files so decided to uninstall...

Now have a bricked psp and have to go and get hold of a new MS Pro Duo as my 4Gb one is too big to use the pandora stuff (typically just got rid of a couple of 1Gb cards). Maplin wanted £29.99 for a 2Gb card :o

Oh well.

Had some bloke once who wouldn`t give up his seat for my OH (about 7 months pregnant at the time), thing is we`d booked the seat! He did eventually move but I pretty much had to shove the reservation ticket in his face...

RE: Considering buying a Blu Ray player.

Just jumped on the BD bandwagon myself, ended up getting an LG BD370. Not a bad little player, multi region (dvd) using a file floating around the net.

Plays divx/mkv and has a youtube viewer (can`t see myself using this too much). Not actually watched a Blu Ray yet, but dealt with a divx file very nicely.
