Page 1 of SPLASHDVD.COM sucks

title say it all.

Justification....order 25 DVD+R disk on 25 th Sep 2003, they take money from my account on the day.
Then nothing for 3 weeks, despite email after email.
evantually they say the order is dispatched ion 14th oct.
recieve 3 DVD-RW!!????? and they say they have furfilled their order. >:(

What do I do?

Send `em back Recorded Delivery or RMSD with a covering letter stating your reason for returning. Obtain a certificate of posting. Sit back and wait. You have a lot of company.

Because they`re cheap, they endlessly send out vouchers to their customers and they have a staff of about three people. Demand outstrips the company`s ability to deliver their promises, and they get themselves into a bit of a pickle when the pressure bites.

I think you just have to accept that if you want cheap stuff from Splash you need to wait....and wait...etc, etc....and even then there`s no guarantee they`ll get it right :(

Depends how desparate you are for the stuff.

write to the company and tell them they`ve got the order wrong. They sent me a wrong order once, I returned it with a covering letter (recorded delivery), and a week later got a full refund on my card (inc postage). sdnufer[at]moc.dvdhsalps

Splash is a slow company and I know I won`t get things I order within a week, but it doesn`t bother me personally and I can wait on items.

Anil makes some valid points, but for the hassle involved, it`s worth people giving SplashDVD.com a wide berth...

I had a problem with Splash DVD where I`d ordered something in May 2003 and 6 months later (yes, I`m a patient so-and-so) without it being delivered, I finally cracked and e-mailed them about the order (the galling thing was that the DVD I wanted says "5-7 days delivery" on the site !).

The reply bemused me - "oh, the distributors have just got new stock in and you should get a dispatch confirmation shortly" :) More like "oh, gawd, we forgot about his order and he`s just reminded us to restock that DVD"...

I`ve got to say that Splash DVD are just about the slowest DVD retailer out there, even slower than the misnomered "DVD Soon". They will eventually get stuff to you (I have an Anna Waronker CD on back order with them ("1-3 weeks", oh yeah) that`s now approaching the 3 months mark...it`s the same story again and again with them !) and some of their voucher codes/offers can be tempting, but I suspect I`m ready to give up on Splash DVD forever pretty soon, just like a lot of people I bet.

I have been dealing with Splash for some considerable time ( from the days when they were known as Under18 ) and have never experienced any hassle whatsoever in my dealings with them. I recently purchased Daredevil Special Edition ( 2 Disc ), The Score and Twin Peaks Season 1 for £6.49, £6.49 and £23.99 respectively and all three were delivered within three weeks of the orders being placed.

A mate ordered a Gameboy game from then a while ago, and used the £5 "ILOVENEWSPLASH" voucher.

A few weeks later Splash decided that they couldn`t fulfill his order and refunded his money, INCLUDING the discounted fiver. Desptite now being £5 richer, he`s decided that Splash are a bunch of useless arses and will be taking his future business elsewhere.

Wish I`d read this thread before I placed on order with them a couple of nights ago for `bo selecta`.

It says despatched in 5-7 days - will I really be waiting weeks and weeks?
