Play.com - They`ve gone way downhill
When I first bought a DVD from play.com in August of 2001, I bought it on the Wednesday and it arrived on the Thursday. I was impressed by their low prices and super quick delivery. I have noticed that, over 2 and a bit years they`ve become very slow with deliveries. The last time I ordered it took 12 days for an in stock item to arrive, and, I bought 3 DVDs last week and they still aren`t here. It says they`ve been posted but I am very suspicious as to why it takes nearly three weeks for a first class envelope to arrive. Has anyone else had problems with them? I continue to order from them becuase of their prices, but I may consider paying a few quid extra and going to amazon.

I ordered from them for the first time 2 weeks ago. Ordered on the Wednesday, arrived the following Tuesday. Just ordered another 4 DVDs from them last night, just checked their site and they were posted today.
Quite impressed so far.

Cant say Ive had a problem with Play, Though our postal service has alot to answer for!

Play`s Christmas glitch seems to be over now.
In the last week I`ve ordered five or six DVDs that have all been posted within a day or so of ordering.
I think overall for the prices they charge, Play are top notch and occasional problems can arise with any company.

I agree that things can be slow, but I usually receive an instock item within a week of ordering so I`m not bothered with the wait. I have some patience and will continue to use Play from time to time.

as I noted elsewhere they can be slow sending out orders sometimes and on others very fast, in fact any slowdown I seem to get comes from the crummy post service, they delivered my last dvd to the wrong street, sigh :S

I think they had a problem over the Christmas break where a load of deliveries went missing. One of mine went missing but once I waited the obligatory 14 days, they sent out another without any hassle and it arrived in about five days.
PS Dont` bother emailing them though! You get an automated reply saying they`ll be in touch in 24 hours but I tried it twice and never got a reply. Use the phone - it was quick and the guy on the other end wqas very helpful.

Why do they take ages to get certain titles back in stock? I have noticed that some films , CD`s and games have been out of stock for about 3 months now!??!!?

No problems with my recent orders - six arrived within 4 days of order
