RE: Jamie Oliver/ Sainsburys Adverts

Hi Gemma

Try the General discussion forum - more likely to find a result there than on the Bargain Forum!

Also there is a forum on Sainsbury`s website that discusses recipes from Jamie.....

Hope this helps

RE: Argos Gaming Bargains

NFS PSP now showing as £19.99.....

Typical Argos, put things out cheap on the web

You reserve it, but when you go to buy it, magically it`s gone to a higher price :(

RE: Cheap DVDs http://www.dvd-gold.co.uk

Yup, and surprisingly the website has only been registered since 16 June 2005, so not a very long trading history either. Sorry OP. Mods, where are you when we need you?

RE: Cheap DVDs http://www.dvd-gold.co.uk

In fact, this appears to be another "first post"

Time to close methinks

RE: Cheap DVDs http://www.dvd-gold.co.uk

And perhaps even more worrying is that the domain owner has elected not to disclose any details.....

Very suspicious

And no chance of come back if it goes under!

Paypal won`t want to know......

buy at your own risk - it will all be OK until it goes wrong!

(remember DVDSoon - or DVDnever unless you want to pay C&E)

RE: Times Online Free Audiobooks- Wuthering Heights & Enduring Love

I agree, the Roxio link works well - thanks to Original poster

Does anyone know if there is still a Master and Commander link working - this was the first "free" audiobook from the Times!

RE: MVC Clearance Sale

Maidstone largely cleared out by the time I got there - loads of cheaper (£5.99) for reputable DVD prices.

I suspect fleabay will see a few of these shortly!

RE: cheap dvds at channel.com

Neither Pickard nor SevenofNine would have allowed this Brittania nonsense! :p

Shields up! (:¦

RE: MAD Cheap BOXSETS at Amazon - Indiana Jones £3.97, Monty Pyton £3.97 etc

The Thunderbirds (Box Set with Five Toy Rockets) is still showing at 5.97 - maybe a bargain for some! :/

RE: WHERES REESTIT ????

His website says he is on paternity leave - and many congratulations to him and his family!

It says he will return sometime in September!

RE: When was the last time you recieved something from DVDSoon.com?

(:¦ >:( (:¦

Have you spotted what has happened to the "free shipping" - either you pay approx $5.96 per package (1 item) or have three travel together - and guess what`s going to happen to three together at Customs!

Free Shipping
Our new free shipping policy is applicable to all orders that follow 3 simple conditions:

Place an order of $39 or more before taxes
The order must contain 3 items or more, in which one of the item is tagged "Free Shipping".
Finally, to take advantage of this offer, the items must be shipped at the same time.

RE: Nokia 6630 on 3 T+T 600, £3.99/month on a 12 month contract

I think I must have missed this, now that we`re in a new month the deal has dropped to same price, but an 18 months contract!
Thanks to the OP anyway!! ;)

2-way radios - £8.73!!!!!

I would also add, in respect of both any complaint to Argos and to Trading Standards that the offer was:

Selected lines, subject to availability. Offer ends 29th July 2005

So what the .... were they doing putting the price up midway through the offer?

This is where the breach of contract and unreasonable behaviour under unfair contract terms act will come -

RE: 2-way radios - £8.73!!!!!

The store refused to sell them to me at that price, and customer services, including recourse to a supervisor, were no better!!
Failed to get anything and spent 50 minutes on hold to an 0870 number, as well as a drive to the store.

Well unimpressed with ARGOS :(

(Arrrrrrgggggh os)

RE: Cheap Courier for heavy items

Oh dear, Parcelflash seem to have gone down.....

Please note that as of 17:30 today (02/06/05), all UK collections and deliveries only have been suspended, however all bookings made prior to this will still be completed

Any other ideas for bargain carriers?

RE: Spytech-UK.com

I want to know if there are any assured bargains?

Seems a worry to me (:¦

RE: Master Replicas Predator Spear- Amazon Price error?

There seem to be several light sabres for around ninety nine pounds.

This may not be a bargain, but the real price with an error in the title.

Risky!

RE: Cheap Broadband router/wireless network

Well if they had reduced the Ozenda bundles (Price: £68.99 or £66.99 excluding VAT excluding delivery = £81.06 and £78.71 plus delivery with VAT on it) to the equivalent of your wine example, then they would be £36 and £35 plus delivery each.

A modem/wireless router including a card for £35 or £36, now would be a bargain :)

And it would be a bargain comparible to your wine example......

However at around eighty pounds plus delivery, the preference is more around brand choice than bargain. For many people (see reviews on www.adslguide.org.uk) the aesthetics of the box score highly - some people prefer the sleek netgear lines to the clunky Ozenda lines :/

I am not sure that I see the point you are trying to make with the wine analogy?

RE: Cheap Broadband router/wireless network

Change my Netgear for the Draytek 2600VG and now get the VOIP as well - easy to set up and great signal for not much more.

I am not convinced there are any "Bargains" in this thread to date - new brand marginally cheaper with limited warranty and telephone support you have to pay for is hardly earth shattering when the price isn`t devastatingly cheaper than mainbrand competitors...... ;)

RE: Free ipod- legitimate

It`s still a pyramid scheme :B

In order to get your gift you`ve got to refer and so on - needing an ever larger number of persons involved to get one.

As with other pyramid schemes, those in early will get whatever the hook is, it`s just that as the scheme expands, it eventually becomes impossible!

I would feel happier if the referred identity was removed irrespective, as using the link credits the referrer :/

RE: LIDL 30" Widescreen LCD £799

Looking at the spec it looks suspiciously like a 15:9 and not 16:9 widescreen.
This may bother some people......

RE: STONKING Orange contract bargains: Nokia 6230, Samsung D500

:) and presumably the Nokia 3120 for free for 12 months for 200 cross network minutes is also a bit of a bargain!!! ;)

RE: STONKING Orange contract bargains: Nokia 6230, Samsung D500

It`s actually still there, it`s just the headline deal is now 11 months PLUS the bluetooth headphone (which wasn`t on the 12 month deal) - not quite as good, but thanks Reestit all the same!

RE: SONIX 26

Digital Direct claim to do the Philips 26PF9946 for just under £599 before delivery.....

http://www.digitaldirectuk.com/products_moreinfo3/index.asp?product_id=6779

The Hitachi 26LD6200 with two scarts is also around at £599 and has two scarts - Available at Richersounds or Emire Direct for example

RE: DVDSoon - beating Customs - but it`s hard work!

DVDSOON aren`t putting the full retail price, rather they put their discounted price on the box (their current standard selling price). They haven`t ever put their infidel prices on. This remains a problem.... >:(

RE: 12 months free line rental 200xnet mins + choice of phones

I suppose it is the thing about reading the small print (on click through links!) and then going into the contract with your eyes wide open.

Getting the Cashback refund is also very tricky - it is not automatic - it has to be claimed within specific limits with specified documentation.

"To redeem the "Cash Back" amount, you must send the claim form along with a copy of your sixth monthly airtime bill to us within 30 days of receiving your sixth bill"

Note that it says "copy" and not original of the sixth monthly airtime bill - don`t send the original..... It doesn`t match the terms and conditions and it may get sent back and you get no refund.

If your documents are not entirely correct and/or get sent back for extra bits of paper, you could well miss the time limits and you could be rejected and end up paying thirty two quid a month for this contract. Worse still, if the network refused to let you change tariff, you`d pay the £32 for all 12 months.....

Some of their "contract" may possibly be on the wrong side of the Unfair Contract Terms Act in certain circumstances, but if they go bust, your phone contract is with O2/orange/vodaphone/whoever and they aren`t liable - they will still seek the £32 a month....

RE: DVDSoon - beating Customs - but it`s hard work!

Good idea - thanks for that - look forward to how you get on.

Certainly IF they do charge, you should seek the repayment of the "royal mail" penalty as well ;)

Good luck and await your experience with interest....

RE: 12 months free line rental 200xnet mins + choice of phones

Certainly the sums make sense, although I couldn`t see the half-price first three months for this phone.

I suppose the sting in the tail is partly with the risk of them going under, but also with their terms and conditions, which allow them to debit you if you move tarrifs before 180 days, or leave before twelve months, or charge you £250 if you fall behind with payment - and you authorise these charges when you take out the contract! :o :/

"For Monthly contract phones on the Vodafone, O2, Orange and T-Mobile networks your contract will be directly with the network. All tariffs on Pay Monthly are subject to a 12 month subscription. Whilst customers can change tariffs throughout the term of the agreement, at the discretion of the relevant network, you should be aware that any any tariff changes before this period are subject to additional charges from Talkworld Online Ltd. To be specific, if, within the first 180 days of the contract, a customer changes their tariff, then they will become liable to pay Talkworld Online Ltd for any loss of commission incurred from the change of tariff. Talkworld Online Ltd will have the right to charge to your credit/debit card for these additional costs, and by purchasing from us, you give Talkworld Online Ltd explicit authorisation for such payments to be taken in the event of a tariff change."

and

"If for any reason, payments on your airtime agreement are not kept up to date, you decide to disconnect before the contractual 12 month period or if your account suffers from any adverse financial difficulties where the airtime provider deems fit to bar your account, Talkworld Online Ltd will have the right to charge to your credit card a sum of least £250 (can be more) for each phone, and by purchasing from us, you give Talkworld Online Ltd explicit authorisation for such payments to be taken ..."
