Contacting Movietyme??

DiabloSandwich (Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 1st September 2002, 15:36

I have been trying to get a response out of movietyme regarding a lost dvd(pulp fiction),but seem to be getting nowhere. They don`t respond to any of the emails i have sent them requesting a "lost mail form",to enable me to get a replacement dvd.
All the shipments they have sent to me before and since this lost dvd have arrived ok,so I am reluctant to flame them, but the lack of response is majorly annoying.
Does anyone have any tips on how to get them to respond ?

I am stuck for a supplier of american region 1dvd`s if i end up having to kick movietyme to the kerb,i cant stand the bilingual canadian covers.

Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks

Out of interest, how long have you been waiting for your dvd?

I ordered Pulp Fiction CE, and it took a week from the date i received their e-mail notifying me it had been posted . I was almost on the verge of contacting them when it arrived. The dvd`s usually only take 3 days normally ..........so i can see why you would be annoyed.

http://www.dvdlifestyle.com
its more likely to get a response from them though i suspect they will ask you to fill out a lost mail form first

Hi

I think I can live with a bit of french writing on the covers. It`s got to be better than this crap.

Hi Diablo,
Funnily enough i have had the exact same problem as you.I pre-ordered Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown from movietyme in july and got an email from them on the 8th August saying that they had posted the dvds.
I waited for 2 weeks uintil deciding to email them about the missing dvds, waited a week still no response, decided to email them again last thursday and up to now have still not heard anything back from them.
I like you have recently started to use Movietyme after also getting sick of the french covers from play.com and up to now have ordered several dvds from them with no problem what so ever....i find it quite annoying that they have not responded to my(and yours) email requesting help.
Let me know if you get anywhere with filling out the lost dvds form thingy.
Jon

This is not the first time that Movietyme or any other trader for that matter has been criticized in this forum and it will occur again and again.
They will either a. Send the DVD to you eventually or b. refund the money but you have to wait 21 days after despatch before filling in the form and the only way to gain their attention is through the forum (note the link in my earlier post is also at the bottom of the left hand column on the movietyme page). I gave up on them as a Korean DVD I`d ordered disappeared in the Christmas post and they were unable to source another copy after a month or so of trying, but did refund me the money when I said I`d had enough.
I suspect that their main problem is under staffing and a large number of orders to process resulting in the occasional lost order.
I`ve had no problem with any other trader I`ve bought DVDs from but this is probably more a matter of luck.
