There's quite a good basic explanation of these on this edition of BBC Click.
Does anyone have one yet or have any hands on experience of one?

I can see the positives...
- Intelligent image analysis
- Face detection
- Auto-HDR
But I can still see too many negatives...
- Never going to match low light focusing
- Battery life
- Accidentally focusing the sun on the sensor

Hi guys..
I moved to mirrorless systems a few years ago, the Olympus OM-D E-M5.
Great camera which has recently been replaced by a Lumix G80.
I agree with all of Rob's points - they are indeed negatives which need to be
considered. I think some of the newer "full frame" systems (Sony A7 . Nikon Z7 etc.) do negate some of the previous issues with the M43 and 1" sensor cameras.
Then again, at over £2K for a body you would expect decent performance.
I'm quite happy with my G80 and 7-14 f/4 as long as the light is pretty decent.
Always carry a couple of extra batteries with me too :)

I'm starting to look at spending my hard earned on a new camera and my eye is being drawn to the Canon M50 I've already got some Canon stuff from my EOS 20D so it would make swapping a lot easier and cheaper.
Anyone have one and an opinion on it?

I'm sure it's great but I'm struggling with buying into mirrorless, feels one step more disconnected from your subject.
But I don't think anyone would be dissappointed in any modern digital SLR-like camera!

Interestingly the same as a much given answer by a garage owner regularly on 5Live. 'There aren't really any bad cars anymore'
I put it next to a Canon RP on the compare feature on WEX and pretty well any difference apart from sensor size wasn't really going to bother me as long as I'm alright with the concept of an electronic image as opposed to a 'real' one via a mirror.
Not that many places you can now go to suck it and see now Jessops have gone.
Online is cheaper but so often you're buying blind.

I'm sure you'll love it, you already have a Canon so it'll feel familiar.

one of the Currys near me had gone as bit like Dixon's used to be and actually have at least one knowledgeable camera expert, you may be surprised if you go there and ask.

Having had a look around to see who's still trading up here I'll probably have a trek into Wilkinsons and have a play with mirror less alongside a good old SLR.
From what I remember they were quite helpful in the past and I'll stump up a few quid more if they still are.
