Odd one regarding Blu-Ray playback software
Since the recent big upgrade, I've been playing games rather than watching movies. Decided to pop a blu-ray on (Ready Player one - don't judge me), and was met with a black screen but audio playing in WinDVD. Googling didn't help much, VLC player didn't want to play ball

Your input can't be opened: VLC is unable to open the MRL 'bluray:///D:/'. Check the log for details.
Then realised I had Cyberlink PowerDVD lurking in a long-forgetten folder. This version had 2 modes, PC and TV. PC mode gave the same result as before, but selecting TV mode worked despite nothing else being changed.
I'd rather use WinDVD as Cyberlink seems like bloatware at the best of times, but if it's the only way to watch my flicksm so be it. Just wondered if anyone would know why it would work in this one mode and none of the others

err the only thing I can think of is hdcp.
Maybe the software 'likes' outputting the signal to TV rather than pc? Have you tried a different cable?
Clutching at straws here.

I'll give it a go. It's just a bit odd as nothing's changed software-wise, and the cable I'm using worked fine with the previous setup.
Just had a quick google, the cable I'm using I've had for a while, so it may not be HDCP compliant, and at a guess the new GFX card would need one that is

Well, no idea what's happened, but he issue appears to have corrected itself, without a cable being changed. Weird.
