Mighty text app. Text from your pc/tablet.

I don`t know how long it has been about, but I have just discovered it. It basically does as the title says. Load the app to your phone first and do a very quick set up. Then load it to your tablet and do the same set up.

You can now send and receive texts from your tablet as if it was your phone. Contacts are synced for you. So, if for instance I left my phone at work. As long as it is on and has a data connection I would be able to text from home.

I was honestly up and running in around 5 minuets, including download times. And I`m a Luddite.

Here is the link.

I was looking for something like this last year as Samsung Kies allowed it, but didn`t work very well.

Does it work with desktops aswell then (the homepage seems to suggest it does).

It does say so. It works brilliantly from my nexus 7.

Oh, no extra cost either.

Do you also use WhatsApp?
Awesome app. I imagine Apple dont like it but again `free` messaging (inc. Picture) from phone. Automatically sees which existing contacts already have it too and add to WhatsApp contacts.

I`m a month too late.  I`m back to Apple now and this only works on Android apparently   Not many things that aren`t on both, but this is.

I had Whatsapp for ages and didn`t use it too much, but then when the little one was born and the missus was sending me MMS`s whilst I was in work, I got her involved and we use it most days now.

As we both now have iPhones we could technically use iMessage for the same thing, but have just just with Whatsapp as now her and most of her mates are sending stuff back and forth and no bother whether you are on Android or Apple.

Yeah I use whatsapp as well as its cross platform (or whatever its called on phones) another good one is kik which does the same as whatsapp. Its handy as i can message my daughter on her ipod (providing she is in wifi) she is only 10 and i`m not ready to give her a phone yet. Saying that she really doesn`t need one as we facetime as well these days.

Just installed this today. Works a treat.

I`ve put it on my android phone first, then my Nexus 7, netbook and PC - it runs through the Chrome browser on the latter two devices, although it will run on other browsers apparently.

It was weird setting it up, as it just synced to my googlemail account, and I didn`t actually have to tell it what my mobile number was. Now the confusing part is that I have 2 sims in my phone (dual sim/dual standby), so I have no idea which number comes up on other people`s phones when I text them. I have just asked a friend to confirm this for me.

Really quite chuffed with it. When viewing the app on the other devices, it even tells me how much battery I have left on my mobile!
