My printer stopped printing anything. It would send the paper through with nothing printed. Several cleans later I have Black. I cannot get colour at all. My printer has 2 separate blacks & separate red/blue/yellow. I replaced the cartridges, I downloaded the latest drivers. I have deep cleaned several times. I have looked in the printing preferences & all seems OK. I have tried a head alignment. It printed OK yesterday evening, but nothing this morning. Any ideas?

do you use your printer much ,as it sounds very much like the ink has dried up in the heads due to lack of use, you can try deep cleaning it again ,but if this produces no results ,its a trip to the printer repair shop, have you had any onscreen messages about your printer needing serviced or (service required parts in your printer are near the end of their service life) as if you get these messages on an epson they stop printing even if you change the cartridges, hope this helps.

Does sound like a major head clog from dried ink.
You should turn on your printer once a week even if you don`t print anything, just enough for it to do the warm up process. That prevents the head clogging and also means you very very rarely have to run the cleaning cycles.

I`ve got a similar problem.
My old Epson wont print colour no matter how many cleans it`s gone through.
Could well be as described that the head is terminally clogged but that fix your own printer link wants to sell me stuff and the printer is probably no longer worth the price of the cleaner.
If it`s more than two or three years old it`s probably recycle time and buy a new one.
I just keep putting it off due to lack of funds.

Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary
Saucer with a thin layer of hot\boiling water, fold & place tissue paper in it to soak up the water, then rest the print head on the paper to unclog the head, can take a while to unclog the head 20 mins was the worst case.
If it was printing yesterday, but not today, all those deep cleans waste ink like buggery.

I refuse to recycle my Epson Photo 950, I`ve even completely dismantled it and cleaned it to keep it going. Plus with careful ebay watching the genuine inks are about £4 a go, and it really can`t be bettered as a photo printer unless you want something bigger than A4 anyway.

I do use my printer a lot, as I said it was used the evening before. It is about 5 years old. I use copy cartridges & have done so for about 4 of those years with no problem at all. I`m not sure about the `head`. Does each of the inks have a separate head or is it one head for all the 5 inks. I was in the process of buying another printer but wanted this as a spare, so would like to get it going again, if poss`. Thanks for all your help. I will try the water method rass` thanks.
Depends on the model, I know a lot of Epsons have the print heads in the carts.

I can`t find the info on a first trawl of Google. If they`re not in the cart I`ll try the Rass method.
