Not sure about that specific model but Fujitsu Siemens laptops generally get favourable reviews for design and construction. They would certainly be on my short list.
RE: Are fujitsu siemens laptops anygood?
May not be Fujitsu related advice but if you`re not in any desperate rush to buy a laptop I would probably recommend taking a look at Currys reconditioned laptops. I bought one of these a few weeks ago when it was priced at £269 after using a £30 discount code flying around and its a great spec machine for the money, even without the discounts. The recon offers online change frequently (sometimes daily) so it may be worth having the occasional look if interested. The only issue I had was the fact that Currys use DHL to deliver and my nearest was a 35 mile round trip.
The Fujitsu does like a good spec as you say and personally I`d stay away from any Celeron based PC`s/Laptops if you wanna do some powerful editing stuff on it and pay a little bit more for a dual core w/ 2gb of memory.

Thanks for this thread, I found it to be a minefield looking for the best spec. for not so much dosh (£350). The wife has just bought a low end Fujitsu-Siemens (Amilo Li1718, 15.4" wide (shiny) screen, 1Gb, 120Gb HDD, Vista premium, T2350 cpu, integrated ATI 200M graphics). Seems to do the biz, Vista fine so far. She wanted one to do her course work on, keep her photos and be a bit more sociable by sitting in the living room with everyone else when working/surfing. Only thing is she needs word for her course work, so is looking to try open office as it should be able to work with word documents.
As I said, happy bunnies here so far.

PS Bullitt79, if you haven`t done so already, look here for a quick data sheet on the Li1818 range and here for the manual (search for Li1818 ).

RE: Are fujitsu siemens laptops anygood?
Thanks alot for the advice.
Im still unsure what to go for. As ive just got a new Canon Eos 400d, im hoping to be doing a lot of work on photoshop with some quite large (files size) images, and im still not sure if in the longer run the Fujitsu laptops will survice!?
Ive started to think i ma get more for my money if i just get a new desktop. I love the idea of having a decent laptop, but are they really that good at the £400/500 price margin??

I have a FS 3Ghz laptop since 2004.
Memory was upgraded to 1Gb recently, using standard DDR memory, CPU vent vents air onto the screen when closed (not good) & clogs quite easily, battery was fried when I got it (ex-display).
Good build quality, nice modular construction (at least on mine).
Only real issue has been power connector jack on the brick in recent weeks.
