said they were organising another free upgrade for download speed up to 8 Mb phone line permitting. They said my line was confirmed OK for 5 Mb at the moment and the upgrade would take place between now and 31st July. Anyone else had a call? They did mention possible e-mail to this effect but I checked and had not received one - he did actually say that not many e-mails had been sent out.
Pete :)
RE: Pipex just phoned me...re free upgrade
I have just been trying to call pipex. Not happy at the moment as i keep losing my connection. Noticed on the site that they are doing some work and it wont be running properly til tomorrow. Not had a call from them or an email but fingers crossed hey? I am very tempted to move though.

RE: Pipex just phoned me...re free upgrade
Be aware that your `free` upgrade will almost certainly entail you transferring your phone line to Pipex`s subsidiary Homecall, and also signing up for a minimum one year contract - ask to have Terms and Conditions sent before agreeing to anything. See the Pipex forum on ADSLGuide (www.adslguide.org.uk) for comments from disgruntled customers!

Yeah they`ll want you to sign up for a minimum of a one year contract and you can`t cancel, if you do they`ll charge you for the rest of the entire year`s subscription!

Just switched from pipex to Talk Talk and saved myself £20+ a month :)
