Oh how I wondered at the speed of this mighty new upgrade from BT.
A staggering download speed of 60 Kilobytes / second compared to the paltry 200 Kilobytes/ second I had to endure with my previous account.
Wait a minute, upgrade from 2 Meg to 6.5 and then get a performance drop of 70%
What a f***in disgrace. Allied to this loss of performance as of this moment I still have not even received a reply to a question I sent to the "Tech Help Line" nearly three weeks ago.
Yes customer relations really do matter to BT
Rant over folks.

You did well...I too am a BT customer and I went from a steady 512k to f***-all after their ADSL MAX rollout...then after 6 weeks of complaints, I have a flakey 256k...
My direct neighbours are with Wnandoo and have a steady 1mb.
Neil.
To add insult to injury the BT Broadband Desktop Help states that
Quote:
"450,000 Kilobits/ second is an acceptable speed considering all things"
Funny that, my 2 Meg account gave me rates of 1,520,000 Kilobits / second day in and day out.

I upgraded to ADSL Max on 19 April and was getting seriously bad speeds. Reverted back to 2mb yesterday - much better!
Oh and BT technical support - what a joke.
EDIT: Forgot to say, check out the forums on ADSL Guide as they are full of people with problems.

Hmm, weird. I signed up for the 8MB upgrade via the website and a week later I`m getting 700k down.
They must like me :D
