Printer Advice!

rvshah (Elite) posted this on Monday, 26th September 2005, 20:35

Hello all,
Just after a bit of advice Iwant to get a colour printer nothing too expensive but onethat does the job well and will print out good quality photos if possible.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or know of any good makes and models to go for, as until now I have been opting for the cheap back & white lasers.

If you think you know of the best printer in the world but its a bit pricey tell me anyway you never know I may change my mind.

Thanks in advance
Ravi

I bought a canon pixma IP4000 excellent printer and cheap to run photo quality on the right media is brilliant I think you can pick one up for about £75 now and ink is about £5.80 each

Which? has the following to say

Quote:
Amazing value. Only the most dedicated digital photography enthusiast will need better-quality prints - nothing else in the same price bracket gets close.

I have the epson rx620 which is a printer, scanner with card reader and preview screen, it was £150 and produces excellent quality borderless prints up to A4 size, The speed is good and the quality is outstanding far better than the S600 canon I used to have. Also worth checking before you buy is the size of paper the printer will take. The S600 will not print on 6"x4" so is not much good for photos unless you only want 7"x5"

If you want to come after me you`ll find me in Newport Pagnell but be warned I know karate, Judo, Kung-fu and several other dangerous words
