Sometimes when I`m on the internet a massive pop up just suddenly appears saying things like search the web there is no x in the corner so I cant close it that way and it completely covers the screen so I cant use the back and forward arrows or click onto favourites to get back onto whatever site I was on at the time. The only way I can get rid of it is by pressing Ctrl alt delete and selecting end task and then going into favourites and selecting whatever site I was on at the time. Does anyone know how to stop it appearing.

if they are covering the whole screen then ALT+F4 will close the currently active window.

Another way is to buy a 3 button mouse as most come with software to allow you to program the third button to do what you want it to just click the 3rd button and a window will pop up with 14 options like close email notepad back forward etc , mine was from staples Trust model 12535 cordless 3 button mouse £10.

Get yourself Spybot Search and Destroy as well, and do a virus sweep for good luck.

I have an open mind - everything goes in one ear and out the other.
Eggman in serious question shocker!
I tried to search the web, but all I found were some flies` wings and legs. My fingers got all sticky and the spider wasn`t best pleased either.
also, get the google toolbar as this is rather quite good at stopping pop-ups. Already this week mine has caught 63 of the buggers.
Thanks for the tips
Iv`e installed Google toolbar and SpyBot search and destroy and so far it hasn`t come back hopefully it will stay that way
