Installed Kazaa lite - PC is now screwed!

bogstandard (Competent) posted this on Friday, 8th August 2003, 12:40

I installed Kazaa lite last night and it made my system (P4 2.8Ghz, XP) run very S-L-O-W. So I uninstalled it and its still the same. Can anyone suggest something to cure this terrible affliction?

You sure it`s Kazaa that did it - as I find it a pretty light application in terms of resources.

Does the process listing (Task Manager) show high CPU usage? and if so, what process is using it?

Kazaa won`t have caused that problem.

Downloaded a similar programme, had similar problem. Running spyware programmes rectified it. Only a long shot.

Kazaa Lite is a modified version of Kazaa, with the spyware removed.

Having said that, if you installed Kazaa Lite over the top of Kazaa (without uninstalling it and running Ad-Aware first), you might have some spyware left over.
