Went to see Elbow at the weekend. Staggeringly good.
Their lyrics have an amazing honest, heartlfelt quality that can literally make you cry.

Looking to pick up tickets for Natalie Merchant in London next month, one of my favourite female artists...
Just got tickets to OMD show in the Museum of Liverpool.. Should be great. Too stressful - payments site kept crashing and sold out by 10:01.

I've got the DVD of the Energy Suite they performed with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic a few years ago, that's fantastic...

I always regret not seeing them in 1980/81 at Exeter Rootes (Routes?)ar in 1997 (with Winston) for the princely sum of a fiver, I did pick up a copy of OMD Live: Architecture & Morality on BD for about $15 (10 quid) earlier this year.
Personally could have lost quite a lot of the A&M tracks in favor of a more rounded Greatest Hits performance (I understand that was deliberate to promote another tour based around another LP).
Last gig was MUSE (who I missed performing in a Seaton (Devon) bar (opposite the Woolworths that MS999 used to manage in 1997) in Calgary 2013, it wasn't as good as their gig in 2010.
My outlook on life is positive & carefree, I'm positive that I'm a pessimist & I don't care what what you think.
Never has so little had to be explained by me to so many so often.

They weren't really promoting an LP as such - it was just the anniversary of the seminal A & M album. It is 'the thing' now isn't it to play whole albums. It gives the band the chance to play tracks they've never played before. To be honest, give me album tracks and B sides any day for OMD.... What I wouldn't give to hear International live...

just saw
Krokodil
Big Business
Mastodon
at Southampton Guildhall. It's alsways been a s*** venue, big bands rarely play there, it "recently" became the O2 guildhall, sound still sucks :(
Krokodil I've heard their CD, and was looking forward to them, but they suffered from 1st support act, don't bother setting the sound up properly syndrome, so they sounded terribe, in a small/decent venue they may have been good, would like to see them again.
Big Business are a 2 piece, I've seen them before, as part of Melvins and without, they were awesome, my mate hadn't seen them before and really enjoyed them. the drummer is incredible, relentless like a machine.
Mastodon were ok, I've seen them better before, so I blame the venue, just sounded like a bit of a muddied dirge in places, which is a shame :( Mostly stuff off new album, a few from The Hunter, and Oblivion from Crack the Skye.
