Hi

Can anyone tell me if you can connect a DVD recorder to a SKY+ box and record onto discs from it to archive etc - I keep getting conflicitng information from SKY customer services!

Many thanks

Yes you can, but you have to let whatever your burning to disc run all the way through. If you have a 2 hour film saved on your + box it`ll take 2 hours to burn it and you can`t watch anything else on sky while it`s doing it. Just works the same way as it would if you were recording onto VHS

Sky Box Office and several other channels use Macrovision to prevent recording, so it is possible to set it all up, press record, and then get a copy protected content message onscreen preventing you from continuing.

However, if you don`t own a macro-hackable DVD Recorder, you can invest in a Sonel Macromaster SCART lead to get round this.
