Where is best place to buy RGB SCART?
Well 1st of all if i buy either the toshy 210 or Sony NS300 (STILL aint decided yet!) i know i will need an RGB Scart (or S-Vid) cant remember which is best.
2) Why do i need RGB SCART and not a semi-decent £10 gold plated jobby.
and 3) where can i buy one? i had a look at Beyondhifi saw some scarts but not RGB ones ( unless i was being thick and didnt see em`)
Oh yeah and 4) Its gotta be fairly cheap.....
Advise me please......

All decent SCARTs will be RGB - basically it just means that all the connectors are actually joined, rather than on cheap cables where they skip some. I bought one of the BTech ribbon ones (5 metre), and it`s excellent - they`re pretty reasonable in shorter lengths. I`m sure Clayts has one of the non-ribbon ones Btech X), which he`s sung the praises of before.

Also try maplins.co.uk

Be careful at Maplins though. They carry some -very- cheap and nasty lines. I went for the Ixos Scarts from http://www.hifibitz.co.uk. Fully wired and extremely nice cables.

B-Tech X Range are very good from beyondhifi.com as mentioned above. Good price too.
You could always take a subscription ( £32 a year or £6.99 a quarter) out to What Video and TV magazine- you get a free Vivanco Pro-wire 1.5m scart-scart lead!!

Is the vivanco jobby any good?

By the way. If you go for the Tosh 210 there is no discernable difference in RGB or S-VHS.
I am assuming your TV has only one RGB enabled scart socket (undoutedly AV1), so you could use that for your SKY and use your second scart socket (AV2) for your DVD player.
Nice ,neat, direct connections without having to loop through VCR`s or use double adaptors into your AV1.
By the way. The Beyond hifi scarts are the business, as are the blokes there. Mega helpful.
