Page 1 of Home Cinema System: Sony HTK-215 ?

I`m on the look out for a home cinema system and the Sony HTK-215 looks ok:

I`ve spoken to a few guys about their systems and I keep getting told to save up and buy a top of the range system, although due to lack of space + not wanting to pay huge heaps of money I`m going to get a complete system.

Do you think the Sony HTK-215 is a good buy? Or are there better alternatives out there?

From what I`ve heard it is a very good budget system offering both dolby digital and DTS.

By the way try Unbeatable as they sell it at I think £266.99 +delivery and they are due to get a shipment in in the next week.

Have ordered one for only £215. Should arrive by Friday. If it is OK then I will post the supplier.

When I thought of buying one, I wasn`t sure which one to get, the Sony HTK 215 or the Yamaha VS 10???

Both offer the almost the same specs & there is no much difference in price. Finally, I bought the Yamaha VS 10. Since then, I am have been having great time with home movie sounds. No regret yet so far.

What made me went for the Yamaha??? I think perhaps I didn`t have confidence in the Sony`s speakers size. They are smaller compared to the Yamaha`s. But at the end, I think they still give excellent sounds like the Yamaha. It is the psycology in me.

So, at the end, it is really up to U. Which ever U pick, I believe they will give U excellent home cinema experience.

I ordered it on tuesday and they said they were in stock but when I phoned today they didn`t have any. They might get some next week. When I ordered mine you had to call for a price BUT after looking at the website just now the price is £299. Strange!

Any Idea if the sony htk-475 in argos is better than this system?

why not try the bush pro 300..only 80 quid from tescos...5 speakers and sub woofer...(its all i could afford but was very pleased with the actual sound quality)

Anyone come across the Kenwood 5052 AV package? It is listed on unbeatable`s site but without a spec for £275. Looks like something on top of, or with, the 5050 receiver which has had some stonking reviews.
