New machine - Yelo 800DVD

This player got a glowing review from Total DVD - it seems to have everything - anyone got one?

And does it have NTSC-PAL50 transcoding? It is specced as NTSC/PAL output, but it isn`t clear if this means transcoding......

The spec says that it has macrovision disabled so you can tape to vhs. My coleuge at work says this is fine for region 2 disks but will not work with recording region 1 disks. My vcr is ntsc compatible. Is this true ?

I have a confirmed delivery of a yelo player .arriving on the 29th. Willl the players still have macrovision like originaly planned or will they now have it enabled ?

If macro vision is disabled then it is disabled full stop so R1`s should work, but if they dont copy to VHS, then switch the signal to output pal?
The yelo has a built in converter.

That should work

How com you keep saying the hitatchi 505 rocks. I was reading a review of it to today and they gave it 5/10 saying picture quality let it down. Cant remember the title of the mag but it did have a picture of Jurasic park on the cover.

Because I have one and it play`s great!
I have aslo had my hand`s on a mico 890 and even though the hitachi is almost twice the price(hacked & macro) it is not twice the machine.

IT IS IN MY WORD`S CONSIDERABLY BETTER VISUALLY & AUDIO WISE.

also What DVD gave it 4 out of 5 and they never found the MP3 easter egg.

But I prefer the reviews of people who have had to pay hard cash for their player`s and at an american review site the player recieved an average of 4.15 out of 5, The two or 3 reviews that dissed the 505 where because there machines had a fault, it skipped on the audio & video!

could you show me this review?

My player does not show any of this skipping therefore it F! ROCKS! BIGTIME!

finally I couldnt think of an original signature:)

Enjoy your Yelo & say thank`s Ironduke:P

and remember................HITACHI 505! ROCKS! BIGTIME!

I know Im scum:)
