yamada dvr8000 a couple of quick questions...

basically is it any good ,
As a first dvd recorder is it easy to use.
My main reason for getting one is to put my old 8mm camcorder tapes on to dvd is it poss to do this, with a 8mm camcorder
I`m getting a digital camcorder this week will i be able to transfer on to dvd ,
doe`s the hack work to make it multi r
and lastly if you think of any other good info i`ll be glad to hear it. thanks

Have a look in the Bargain Buckets at the Philips DVDR70 thread. It might be worth thinking about for a few extra quid.

Can this player record NTSC video tapes? Apparently only Philips and Pioneer permit this but they are too expensive to use as secondary recorder to record a few NTSC tapes...!

I bought the MR version from Richer sounds - £149 - very good picture (but then I was upgrading from a 3 1/2 year old SCAN 2000 !!) - no hack needed - played my R1 & 2 all fine.

Nice machine to date - slight issue with S-Video feed in from Sky+ box (See http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/forums/thread.asp?Forum=211&Thread=296969&Type=1)
