Time Stamp with DV connection to Panny DMR-E60
I am connecting my JVC GR-DVL355 Digital Camcorder via DV cable to my new Panasonic DMR-E60 DVD recorder, and the time/date stamp does not appear on the screen or when I record to DVD-R or DVD-RAM.
I have contacted JVC, they say this is correct operation, and I should use S-VHS connection to get Time Stamp (Defeats the object of getting DV connection!)
Does any other DV camcorder display the Date/Time Stamp out of DV connection?
Thanks Trent.

Doyou mean the time stamp running on the picture, if so why do you want that on?

Yes Time/Date in picture, we have about 7 years worth of DV tapes, mostly of my kids from birth upwards, so good to tell what year/time etc. recording was taken. :)

I was thinking of going for the e60 myself to transfer my mini dv tapes to dvd - don`t think i will bother now. Thanks for the heads up.

Other than the above problem the E60 is superb, and the problem is with the camcorder not the E60, I got the multi-region version from digital-point.co.uk for £349 next day free delivery!
RE: Time Stamp with DV connection to Panny DMR-E60
I bought my JVC GRD20 mini DV camcorder and E50 at the same time
I didn`t consider the `fancy` connection of the E60 worth the extra.
I`ve recorded a fair bit of the usual kidee stuff onto DVD-R using an S-VHS cable.
The picture and sound are brilliant, plus no problems with date/time stamp.

Both JVC and Panasonic have confirmed that Time/Date stamp is not transmitted on DV connections! >:(
