Hi,
I know this has asked 100`s of times.
My Dad`s birthday and I have 60 pounds to spend on a player. Asda, Safeway, Comet etc. Do Asda still do 3 year warrentys???
Must Be Multi-Region and play DVD-R... VCD/SVCD and Marofree a bonus :-)
Thanks in advance.
The Mico at Sainsburys. They are the biggest manufacturer of DVD players in the UK & are very reliable.
RE: DVD Player under 60pound
ok, please could you post some specs on this player or links, thanks. I`m glad you said it`s reliable. I loved my Dansai but it`s on it`s way out...
Here is the Mico site. I notice that they have cut down the number of models they once had. I don`t think the Diamente is on there site but some are still available in Sainsburys but going fast, so a friend of mine who bought two from the Portsmouth branch about a week ago told me. Obviously you could buy a new Dansai if you liked your one, they are still available in Tesco I believe. Personaly I`d go to Sainsburys & check out what Mico`s they have. http://www.micoelectric.com/mainpage.htm

I AM NOT A LEMON, I AM A CABBAGE.
It`ll be the Pacific 1002...........brilliant machine, I bought one for my son and before I did I read some reviews and this one was my favourite, Quote "........this machine will play anything MP3 CD`s CD-R`s CD-RW`s DVD-R`s........ blah......... blah.......... blah..........it would probably play a frisbee" All for only £44 and it comes with a THREE year guarantee, yes you read correctly three years, you can`t go wrong!
It`s true it plays everything.............although I haven`t tried a frisbee............yet.
Cheers, Marty 8)
P.S. I almost forgot, you can buy this terrific machine from Asda.
Just because you`re paranoid, doesn`t mean they`re NOT out to get you! :)

RE: DVD Player under 60pound
The current Pacific model from ASDA is the 1002W whcih differs only in the remote control which is incredibly long and thin with very small buttons.
As posted by others it plays loads of formats and is easy to region hack. My only real issue is that it has taken until my third machine to get one that plays reliably. However, with ASDA`s no questions asked attitude to returns, this hasn`t been too big a problem.
