I have seen this DVD recorder on the Techtronics site for £250. It is £350 in my local comet store.
Is it any good???
Can it "pause" live TV ???
i have just ordered a panasonic dvd player,Panasonic DVD-S75EBS.
I am also thinking of getting a dvd recorder in the near future and the panasonic ones seem to be the way to go as i have a panasonic dvd burner for my pc.
Any advice is much appreciated.
Thanks
Rob
I & a number of others on this site have one. I bought it from at £308-00 & to me it was worth every penny. £250-00 is a bargain. If you are watching Live TV & recording the programme as well you can `for instance answer the phone` then come back & watch from where you were, you can even use the speed up & catch up with the `Live` broadcast. You can also (again for instance if watching football, go back & watch a goal or other incident then go back to the live programme) as all the time it is recording. This is if used with a DVD-RAM disc. Again at the price it`s a snip. But there is a JVC comming out shortly at about another £100-00 on top with DVD-RAM DVD-RW & DVD-R.
PS. I have just noticed the DVD player you mention but it does not playback DVD-RAM. The new Panasonic players do & the cheapest I`ve seen them at are £94-00. This would allow you to edit a RAM disc & re record it onto a DVD-R using the E50 for permanent storage, or to watch a previously recorded DVD-RAM disc whilst recording a new one.

Hmmm, I went into Google & the first site I came up with did not mention DVD-RAM for that player, clearly it does play them. I`m also looking to buy one of the Panasonic players hence why I knew of one at £94-00.
I bought my E50 for £350 (it was priced £450 in Dixons) just after it was released in April, so it`s a bargain at £250.
Its up to £265 now. Do you know if it plays vcd /svcd? Also does it allow you connect to it with a firewire?
VCD & SVCD ok on most but wont see my chapter marks? and if you want firewire you need the E60 model ( not worth the extra from what I have heard)
If I go for the E50 and transfer my home movies from my digital video cam via s-video am i likely to notice the difference in quality from tranferring it via firewire using either an E60 machine or by computer?
Paull , let me know when you find the cheapest and send me the link having a similar idea, but I will get really confused with another scart to fit to the television , eg there are no sockets left !!
