Panasonic DMR E30 copying?

hueycobra (Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 13th November 2002, 14:03

I have a Pioneer 525 chipped with a paragon mod that disables macrovision to copy onto VHS, I also have a macromaster cable I use with a Philips 710 to copy onto VHS.

Why can`t I use either of these to copy dvds with my Panasonic DMR E30.

Is there a mod I can get or a cable to disable whichever encryption seems to be present as macrovision shouldn`t be present

Help

ccs copying encription is stopping you copying im afraid youll have to get a decca or a dansai there are only a few which can disable this protection

Hi

I have got this problem to. Is it all dansai and decca players that disable this protection or just certain models?

Does it remove the protection `from the box` or do you need to hack it in some way?

Many thanks

Try the Macroscart cable from http://www.multiregionmagic.co.uk/.
I`ve got one of these and use it on my DMR-HS2 and it works a treat.
Be careful other companies sell similar for cheaper but they do not remove both copy protections.

Glyn,
With your set up (HS2 & Macroscart cable- can you make back up DVD copies from pre-recrded Film Dvd`s ?
I am thinking of buying HS2 or the Toshiba one with harddrive when it comes out. I have a Dansai 852 at the present moment.
Thanx in advance.

I use the CP2S Video Stabiliser from here http://www.lektropacks.co.uk/dept.asp?Hash=377&dept_id=32
Up to now it has never let me down with my proline 1000 to my panny E30.

I also have just bought the Panasonic e30 and am having the same problems backing up dvd’s from a chipped Pioneer 525 and have been exploring the options. The Macroscart cable looked promising but I have seen postings on other forums stating that it will only work with PAL (region 2) dvd’s and not NTSC (region 1). Can anybody confirm this? Since this cable retails at £50 it is a bit pricy to get as an experiment.
The other option which seems to be popular is to buy a cheap dvd player which is multi-region & macro hackable.

The players that seem to come up regularly in discussion on this topic are:
Acoustic Solutions DVD 321 / 451 - from Richer Sounds
dansai 1010 – from Tesco
Apex 1100wb - from ASDA

Does anyone have any experience using any of the listed machines or can suggest any alternatives.
