RE: Hack for Philips DVDR70

I have tried this

play 159 121 212 005 255 play

but it did`t work

I tried the magic 085 version as well

neither worked

play codes worked on my old DVD 710 but I`ve had no joy on my DVDR70

play 159 222 222 005 255 was the old play hack if that is any help

I`ve seen other people on other sites having our trouble also

if you get another code let me know

Philips DVDR 70/051 Region Hack Problems

I`ve tried the usual Philips generic region hacks as posted here and elsewhere (play 159 etc) with both my real remote and the MAGIC code with a ONEFORALL but no joy.

It still gives the region coding when I play region 1 disks.

I have the latest firmware, I got that from the Philips website. I tried flashing it but I didn`t need it.

Has the latest firmware written out the hack?

Can someone who has a DVDR 70/051 who has done the hack give me a step by step.

I have had 3 Philips DVDs and they have been no problem.

I need help here team.

Pacific 1002 multiregion out of box

The Pacific 1002 from ASDA is multiregion out of box.

No hacking needed. Ignore the user manual that tells you it is a region 2 machine with limited capabilities it actually plays everything DVD, DVD-R, MP3, VCD, even Super VCD.

Also it converts NTSC to PAL proper. That means you can watch region 1 disks on ANY TV - no need for RGB input and you can tape it too on a bog standard PAL video, provided you have a macromaster lead.

Buy it - its a bargain. Cheap as chips at under £70.

Panasonic DMR E30 copying?

I have a Pioneer 525 chipped with a paragon mod that disables macrovision to copy onto VHS, I also have a macromaster cable I use with a Philips 710 to copy onto VHS.

Why can`t I use either of these to copy dvds with my Panasonic DMR E30.

Is there a mod I can get or a cable to disable whichever encryption seems to be present as macrovision shouldn`t be present

Help

RE: Philips Macrovision disable cable

The documentation says to use the original p-code.

If I put in no p-code can I then use the one for all RC6 code to multiregion it and SVCD it up again? I followed advice from elsewhere (http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayershack.php?select=Philips%20DVD%20710) to use a code to svcd it up. It was then region 1 so I oneforall coded it back to multiregion. I`d like all of the above plus macrovision disabled. I`ve got a macromaster cable but i`d like to eliminate that and use a basic scart.

Also where did you get the RS232 connector. I can`t find an old mouse that has 6 pin out. They all seem to be 4 pins.

Philips Macrovision disable cable

Has anyone actually tried to make the necessary lead to reset the NVram on a Phillips DVD in service mode? I`ve got all the info to build and hook up but have no instructions what do do after reset. What is the original P-code of a 710?

RE: Philips DVDR 880 Hack

Is there a hack to enable MP3 on the 880 to save getting the 890?
