Can anyone tell me if this has dts decoder in it,according to the box it has. And does the dvd player need dts decoder as well to receive DTS. Apart from this its a wicked system. any info would help.

Yes - the HTK-215 does have a DTS decoder despite certain sony outlets saying it doesn`t.
The DVD player does not need an on-board dts decoder as the HTK-215 will do it for you. All you need is a DVD player that outputs a dts signal.

thanks LBM that clears that up, cause i thought i was given duff info from sony outlets....... doaes the panasonic rv40 output dts do u know,reason being a friend of mine says u get a different menu come up at the start if u have dts.

Not sure about the panasonic rv40 - try searching this forum or post a new thread.
I don`t think you get a a different menu for dts but are just able to select the dts soundtrack.

Bowf if you read the techtronics page you will notice that the £259 price excludes VAT (17.5%) which will take the price to just over £300. So it looks like you wont have to contact the trading standards after all. Rocky...
