Ok, I admit I've never actually watched anything he was in in it's entirety, but I think the mark he made makes him a notable figure worth mentioning as he goes on his way... and quite a classy note he leaves too:

Managed to avoid Pee-Wee all my life, but I remember Paul Reubens as The Spleen from Mystery Men. That was a laugh.

I had no idea that was him! I've also never seen Pee Wee Hermen but I've read about it since and feel like it's definitely a movie (or two) I need to see one day.
Feel like his life will be an oscar winning biopic one day, from what I've read it was very interesting.
