I've heard, via social media rumours, that the actual target was a Remembrance service but the planning was so poor that the terrorist wasn't go to get there in time and thus switched to the nearer hospital instead.

Don't know if this is true, but would have been much higher profile and strike at the heart of one of this country's best known traditions if successful...

Apparently not.
The passenger asked for the Women's Hospital the Echo's report this morning stated that specifically. Though I'd have to agree the timing and the proximity to the cathedral would lead you to think otherwise.

Mind you they were still quoting the mayor as saying 'We know that the driver exited the car and locked the doors' which is obviously wrong when you watch the video.

The place is still smothered in cars and news wagons with passengers coming out the other side of the hospital for pick up.

Theory I heard on the radio earlier is that it's being considered that this was a copy cat attack like the one in Afghanistan last year

The 4 arrested yesterday have been released without charge. The attacker recently converted to Christianity from Islam and has previously been sectioned under the mental health act.

Interesting thread

Despite Patel whingeing on about England's 'dysfunctional asylum system'

They had no legal obstacle to putting Al Swealmeen on a plane after 2015 but did not do so and haven't commented on why not.

They've been in government since 2010
