TL;DR I am fed up with the tone of the forums.

From now on, any thread on any topic I feel is divisive, I will close, sometimes without explanation.

This is not open for discussion, when you pay the money to host this site, you can set the rules. If you don't like it, close your account. If you moan about it, I will close your account.

This really is not open for discussion.

At some point I might write up new official forum rules, but honestly the new forum members are mostly spammers and they don't read them anyway.

I don't want to get banned, but I don't understand why you closed the the Chapelle thread. on other forums, usually a quick explanation is given, if it's not obvious, i.e. petty name calling, or worse.

it's kind of hard to obey, if we don't know what the rules are.

. I feel liek i'm on the other side of an argument with my kids, or a flashback to 30 years ago with my mum "it's not what you said, but the way that you said it"

I'm back after moving into a council house, so other priorities on my mind and wanted to take some time out before responding to this.

I agree that it's your site and you are therefore perfectly fine to come up with the rules, and I will try to stick to them even if I'm not entirely sure exactly what they are.

That said, it's become increasingly clear that the issue is between you and me rather than anyone else as the last intervention clearly showed. 

I'd prefer you messaged me and told me what the issue is but that's also your prerogative.
