Memories of my younger days, clearly...come into my mind...
So in my 52nd year, I now find out that I'll become a Grandad twice within a few months of each other.
So that's nice...

Your a young Grandad, as most of this generation are not having kids till nearer 30 or older, ie, taking longer to settle down and have a family.
My first grand child was when I was over 60, I thought I would never be a grand father, as before that they all left the house, got a partner, and all had dogs, so it was grand dogs instead of grand children for a long time LOL.

My eldest son, whose baby is due in April/May, is in his early 30's whilst my youngest daughter is early 20's and due in August...

I'm about to join the Grandad club too Si. My oldest daughter (27) is having her first in April. I'm older than you though at a 'how the hell did that happen' 58.

Many congrats on the news Si.
Annie & I didn't start for a family until we'd given ourselves to enjoy married life first, so left it a few years. As such we didn't have Luke until we were both in our 32nd year (Annie's only a month point five younger than me). Thanks to this, we probably won't be grandparents until we've tipped over the 50 ourselves, but given the boys' difficulties, it's unlikely they'll kids of themselves anyway :(
