RE: The Trump Presidency

Interesting latest Americast.

Trump's not spoken to the press for two weeks and has cancelled plans to go to Mar a Lago for thanksgiving. The comment made, only half joking, was that he's scared they'll change the locks if he leaves and he wont get back in.

Also it's now rare for any of his tweets not to carry the Twitter rider that
'This claim about election fraud is disputed' because it's the only subject he tweets about while the death toll from Covid keeps rising.

We saw this coming. We knew what kind of absolute human detritus he was before he took office and now have to stand by while everything we knew would happen comes to pass while the morons who support him still worship his every move, and the GOP stalwarts who enable his every whim also stand back and become complicit in the deaths of 1/4 million people.

Hilary would have been the better president. Biden will be the better president. They've just got to figure out how to dispose of the old one before he starts pushing buttons, the purpose of which he doesn't have the mental capacity to understand.

Every sane person has been wanting that for the last 4 years

I'm at that point now where whilst I still think there was some fraudulent activity (based on charges laid against individuals), I really don't think the Trump campaign has anything noteworthy.

As I've said previously I think there has been fraud and that it wouldn't affect the result, but I'm also coming to the conclusion that Giuliani and the female lawyer whose name I can't remember are just gaslighting everyone (and I hate that term)...

If there was 'fraud', it was at a miniscule level, perpetrated by individuals. The alleged mass organised fraud being implied by Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Guiliani and his equally as deranged lackeys just doesn't exist, as has been proven by courts all over the country.

Bizarre, though, that voter fraud is only being alleged in a handful of states, and none of those states being the ones narrowly won by Trump.

To be fair, I've never thought that.

I've always believed that it was isolated to individuals.

Hardly, it would make no sense to allege fraud in states that you won just in case any investigation actually overturns the result.  And no one from the Democrats is alleging fraud.

This is why I've always be of the opinion that it would make sense to audit all the voting as I can't believe that the only individuals engaged in fraud would all be Democrats.

AFAIK, the only people caught in attempted fraud (including the case you recently highlighted) were Trump supporters.

As it happens, Trump has started to move on from lying about imaginary fraud, and is now inviting State lawmakers to the White House in an attempt to get them to ignore the will of the people and overturn the result of the election in their state.

It's bizarre enough that it's actually possible to do this. But even more so for Trump to attempt... actually, ignore that. It's exactly the kind of thing he would do.

Kinda getting bored of saying 'I told you so...'

I think that's the thing, it's not remotely shocking at all. He won't get away with it, and it's a sign of how desperate he is to stay president, whether that is vanity, ego or fear of legal processes against him when he's no longer the incumbent.

An interesting thread on Twitter from Edward Norton

Maybe we're all attributing more abilities to him then he has.

Happily, the lawmakers from Michigan told Trump to get stuffed. Hopefully that's exactly what they said.
