Recommend a TV Cabinet please - my 1 yr old is doing my head in!!!

Nothing under my TV is sacred any more....the Wii, the PS3, the DVD player, the remotes, the eyetoy, the wiimotes, the sky box, the Singstar thingy....they are ending up covered in sh*t, or anywhere round the house.

Currently rocking a 32"crt but that`ll change soon for a 42" plasma....need you guys to recommend a cabinet with glass fronted doors on the front.....couldnt see much at Ikea online....

Thanks in advance :)

Wall mount it matey above his head!!!

I don`t have any kids (never want them) and when I go round to my brothers house it fills me with horror that his TV, Wii & 360 are covered with sticky fingerprints from his kids.

maybe you need to `explain` about this stuff

otherwise, it will just become a game and you`ll lose

kids need to know the boundaries

our little one was fine about it but, it cuts both ways and I still have to ask his permission to play with the scalextric ;)

:)

This thread brings back memories..

I can sympathise with you on this, but when my 2 lads were little, they just knew not to go near the tv, video, hi-fi,etc etc..When they were very young, i would just say "Err.." to them (nicely :)) & they knew not to touch (In fact they are 19 & 15 now & they still don`t mess with any of my gadgets, well, they have their own now! ):D

Good luck with finding a unit :)

I had the same problem so I found a cabinet at Ikea for under £100 that had lockable glass doors.

It now £129
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00033864

I have a 42" LCD on it. I have my Sky box, dvd and PS3 in it, untill I realised that the PS3 overheats in the cabinet. I then put the PS3 on shelves above and to the side of the TV.

Our now 6YO never went near the AV equipment.
Our 1YO doesn`t either.
Simply because if they even try going close they get a loud "NO!"
That usually does the trick, if they push it they get lifted away with another loud "NO!"
I`m glad that works, I really don`t like closed AV cabinets.
