How to hide in face book ?

Pjb (Competent) posted this on Wednesday, 27th May 2009, 11:08

Hi can somebody help me out. I use face book and hate to say no to people on face book. Now a guy that I work with is always on fb and I do not want him to see when I am also on it. Is there a way that I can hide when I am on it but just so I do not show up to him ??.

No one knows you`re on it as long as you`re not logged into the chat mode.

You can block people from seeing your page, or just items on your page eg photos, by going into your privacy settings.

At the end of the day if you dont want people seeing your stuff just dont accept/delete them.

Thanks Juls

I have seen that if I am not in chat mode that would work but it would then not let me see who in on line. I just wanted to stop one person from seeing me on line but still be able to see others. I guess I just cannot do it that way.

I was cajoled into joining facebook a few weeks back, by my mate in Portugal.
I really wish I hadn`t, my page (or whatever you call it) is just filled with mindless surveys and comments from a couple of evidently bored relatives, in particular.
"What car are you?"
"What zoo animal are you?"
"What housebrick are you?"
It`s endless. :/

How does one leave facebook?
Can you actually delete the page altogether?
Or are you doomed to be on there forever...... :¦

You just don`t go back, Bowfer!

I was forced to create a facebook page last year, just to view a forum facebook page, plus a member`s wedding photos on his page.

I joined, I viewed both pages, and then I never went back. Dread to think what rubbish is littered all over my page now!

This whole social networking thing does absolutely nothing for me. :/

I will say I was never going to use it that much but I do have a reason for doing so. I have set up a group for people wanting to have their photograph taken. I am a very keen amateur photographer but needed models to take photos of, family and friends soon get feed up or just do not want to help. The group has worked very well and now has over 30 members of which I have been able to do 3 shoots with.I also believe it has got my name out there because one of the guys in the group runs a website and he has asked me to do a few photo shoots for it. So you see I do have a reason for using it not just the normal rubbish that is posted on these sites. Back to the main thing this guy really bugs me about the time I now spend on fb but because I have to work 1 to 1 with him it would be really hard to just block him I would just much prefer that he could not see me on line,

Hate to break it to you Sue but what is dvdreviewer if not social networking?

Smart idea Pjb - might have to log that one in the memory banks if I ever need models for future projects (no, I`m not a perv)

Forums I like.

Social Networking sites, chat rooms and instant messaging I do not.

There is a difference, Alfie.
