Page 1 of Dear god- Corden and Horne
General Forum
This confirms my lack of faith in British tv.
I knew this would be terrible. Two mates were yesterday claiming it was funny, so I`m watching the repeat to know that my opinion is correct.
F*** me, I expected for it not to be very funny, but this has far exceeded my expectation for how s***e it would be.
21 seconds I knew it was going to be ludicrously bad, the way they were doing the "we`re big time" ego push.
Then the first sketch come on. Really bad.
I`ve actually watched that Gavin and Stacey and it`s alright. Not worth the hype it`s been getting, but worth a watch, although I thought the Christmas special was poor.

RE: Dear god- Corden and Horne
Hey! I really enjoy Gavin and Stacey and I though Horne and Corden was alright. There was a couple of times I laughed out loud - which is rare for me with British sketch shows. I also thought Corden`s sketch with the England footy team was one of the highlights of Comic Relief (though that`s not saying much). Out of the sketches, the one with the old school friends meeting in the park was good, and I thought Corden`s Ricky Gervais was a great impression.:)
I actually saw them perfoming some of these sketches at a charity gig, and it was one of the highlights of the night. Really good performers in front of a crowd.
I watched the Al Murray one the other night (and I like Al Murray), but I thought it was much worse than H&C.

I agree with Ben. I thought it was pretty good (not actually great though) - and that Al Murray wasn`t.
About 5 minutes into H&C, I was feeling pretty disappointed, but then things picked up and I enjoyed the rest. The `old schoolfriend` sketch was brilliant, as well as the camp reporter.
According to the Radio Times, next week`s episode is better, as well.
Absolutely dire. I really enjoy Gavin & Stacey but this just left me sitting there thinking `when are the funny bits coming`?
Corden did an amusing Gervais impression, but that was it - not holding out a great deal of hope for Lesbian Vampire Killers now sadly.
I love deadlines - I love the whooshing noise they make as they fly past...
- Douglas Adams
I thought it was just terrible too.
The fat one`s sketch with the England team was good, but their sketch show was dire.
I like James Corden from times I;ve seen him on NMTB (and such other panel games) and also I liked the thing he did for comic relief with the England team
I dont really watch sketch shows anymore - I just dont think they are funny
(Little Britain, Catherine Tate but to name a couple)
The last "series" I watched was Harry Enfield and that was probably at least 10 yrs ago
I dont really find the office funny either - and that I felt was just a sketch show with every sketch in the office with only one set of characters

Did you see Jason Manford on comic relief?
Boy, did he bomb.... :/
Really?? Going to see him in September, normally been impressed with all his standup/appearances. Hope he was just having an off night or something
Edit¦: Just watched on youtube, thought he was just as funny as normal, the crowd obviously didn`t. Maybe they`d dosed off by that point.

Found all of it rather unfunny, except the last sketch where they danced. That was absolutely classic, and for some reason completely missing from iPlayer.
