I watched Watchdog last week and it was about warranties and the expert basically said they werent worth the paper they are printed on and the only one he would recommend is the manufacturers warranty.

If you go for an extended car warranty even from the dealer be careful many of them for example over 4 yrs under 60,000 miles only cover certain things. Make sur eyou read the exclusions and if it covers parts and labour.

In my exp most of the time they are not worth it just put the warranty money in a bank acc and by the time you have a problem you will have enough saved to sort it out.

Have to agree, extended warranties are in my experience rubbihs.

I currently work in a warranty call centre, but we also do out of warranty repairs...most of our out of warranty repairs are things that were not covered under the extended warranty and the customer`s just want sorting.
