So we went to the Suffolk Show (county agricultural show) today, and as we`re standing at one of the tables in the county council`s marquee some posh bloke came up and said "His Royal Highness would like a word" to the women behind the table. I thought he probably meant the president of the show or some other `high-up`, but when I turned to look Prince Andrew was standing there just the other side of my wife!
Neither of us actually said anything to him ourselves, but my wife is busy telling everyone she knows how she is now to be seen as something special since she has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with royalty.
The thing that most amazed me, however, is just how small he is - not all that tall and quite skinny.
Princess Ann(e)? asked me what i was doing one time, i said timesheets, she looked confused, was at the opening of the whitbread centrel in southamton years and years ago.

The thing I always think about when I think of Prince Andrew is the old Jack Dee sketch...."When they were handing out personalities he thought they said hairstyles and asked for thick and wavey"....lol "If he fell into the sea he`d pop up and say "Mmmm a bit peppery isn`t it"" Good ole Jack.
Now your wife can say she was stood next to a group of workshy inbred foreigners whos only claim to fame is to sponge of the populace.. Back in the day they probably deserved some respect but now they are a total irrelevency.
And that`s me being nice about `them`!
I`m sure they`re not too bothered whether you`re nice to them or not...

Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn...
And those who dance will spin and turn,
And those who wait will wait no more,
And those who talk will hear the words,
And those who see will fade and die,
And those who laugh will surely fall,
And those who know will always feel their backs against the thin wall...
I suppose the Royal Family is a good attraction for our foriegn tourists.
All they just need to do now is open the gates to Buck palace and serve fizzy drinks :D
I would be willing to bet that if we got rid of the royal family, the effect on tourism would be absolutely negligible. In fact, it would probably go up because we could finally open up some of the palaces to the public.
