Is it legal for a learner driver to have kids in car seats in the rear.
One for our resident copper marksparks999
I am teaching the wife to drive and whenever we go anywhere (ASDA etc) I let her drive. We take the kids with us and they are belted up in the back.
Teh other day we were at a junction and a kid on a bike said it wasnt legal that we had kids in the back if the driver had not passed her test.
True or False?

I remember my Dad teaching me Mum to drive and me and our bro were always in the back - ringside seat for the arguments! :D

My eldest son, 3yrs old next Sept, tells me to stop shouting at Mum! He also tells Mum off for not driving slowley.

I can`t find anything that says kids aren`t allowed in a car driven by a learner, provided there is a proper supervising driver accompanying and the kids are in proper seats etc.
I would suggest the twit on the bike is referring to the old `bloke in the pub told him` rule book. >:(

Ok, I found this http://www.rospa.com/roadsafety/info/learners.pdf
It is meant for for people like yourself. Apart from having a picture of Christiano Ronaldo having a driving lesson on the first page it makes no mention about passengers. One thing to bear in mind is that you are in control of the car, so no reading, mobile phones, drinking, intravenous drugs and so on.

I beeped a kid on a bike when he shot out in front of me. He told me to `F*** my mother`.
Should I f*** my mother or is this kid way off base?

As far as i am aware it is perfectly acceptable for a learner driver, being instructed (by a fully qualified driver) to carry passengers in the rear of ther vehicle. :D

Sorry, this isn`t relevant to the thread but NTG`s post reminded me of it. :D
A mate of mine, who is a bit mental, once had to stop for a bloke crossing the road at a pelican crossing, while the lights were still at green.
Of course, after the bloke had crossed the road, the pelican crossing then went to red, meaning my mate had to,effectively, wait twice as long as normal.
My mate shouted "couldn`t f***in wait,no ?"
The bloke shouted "f*** you" back.
My mate got out,got a hold of the bloke and physically dragged him back across the road.
Champion. 8) :D
NTG,out of interest, did the kid shout "f*** your mother" in his own tongue,or did he attempt some `gangsta` "Aaaah f*** yo mudda" bulls*** ?
F*** you mother in,for the sake of argument,a Bristol accent must sound s***.
