Loss of our darling "Patches"

Choagy (Elite) posted this on Thursday, 29th March 2007, 20:07

Sorry if I bring the mood down a wee bit but me, my good wife and bairns are heartbroken.
Yesterday we had to make the correct but still desperately sad and heartbreaking decision to take our wee darling to the vet for her last moments on our glorious earth.
She had been ill for about three months, series of minor strokes, and her condition had deteriorated over the last week to the point where we knew only one decision could be made.
Yet through all this she still managed to run , albeit in circles :) still loved her wee run in the car over to Culross or the park opposite St. Mungos :)
Still wagged her tail for us all and was the wonderful wee darling we have known for eleven years, who whilst the time since yesterday has been amongst the saddest time of our lives we are still extremely happy that we had this wee gift in our lives.
Yes I know there are members who will not share our emotions or even understand them and to them can I ask simply one thing. Try not to comment please and simply allow those like minded members to comment or simply read my wee tribute to a lost wee soul.
My family and all who knew "Patches" loved her dearly and are left with a very heavy heart now that she has gone.

Bye my wee darling, we still love you .

Ian, Irene and the bairns.

Choagy, my heart goes out to you and your family. That trip to the vets is the hardest as, unfortunately, many of us know.
11 years of sharing your lives with Patches means many, many memories - some will make you laugh and some will make you cry but you will always have them with you.
Hugs to you all
Juls x

*ahem* sorry, there`s something in my eye...

Terribly sorry to hear that mate, I remember when our Sam had to `sleep` (some 20 years ago now) and I still miss him, but i`ve still got the happy, happy memories of him. (Mad as a box of frogs, and fathered many of the cross-breeds around my way after vaulting the back fence on a daily basis)

Sorry to hear that Choagy (and family)

I still miss pets we had as kids...everytime I walk into my mums kitchen I expect `Ben` the labrador to be in his bed..

You did the right thing - hard as it is.

Losing a pet is like losing a member of the family our thoughts are with you all at his time.

Really sorry to hear of your loss Choagy.

I shall indeed raise a glass of my finest Scottish malt to your wee Patches ;):)

Companies that have p**sed me off so much that I will never use them again and I hope you dont either....
Jacks Fish & Chips of Cambridge ridiculously overpriced and overpackaged chips. £1.20 for a stupidly small portion of chips - they need to go up north for a good lesson in fish and chips
Alloy Bodies of Manchester - The Grand Daddy & Benchmark for shockingly poor customer service.
Capital Bank Leasing who are part of [B]BOS
& are f**ing useless & struggle to action the smallest request but are fantastically efficient at taking money out of my account
[B]Abbey National
Absolutely diabolical service - how hard is it to change £60 of coins into notes????
....more coming soon no doubt.....
