I also work for Asda in their electrical dept. and, unlike the others you mentioned, do know something about the players we sell. The best one on the go at the moment is the Pacific 1002 at £85. This can be hacked for multi region and plays every form of CD I`ve tried in it. VCD, SVCD, Cd-r, CD-rw, MP3, the lot!

Reoc A3 VCD Help!!!!

Doe sanyone know of a way to hack this player to make it play VCDs. I`ve tried VCD, SVCD and CD-R but none of them work. Help!!!!

Limit DVD Players

Where can I buy them other than Richer Sounds? I`m sure I saw them quite cheap but can`t remember where. Thought it was Tesco or Safeway, but have tried with no luck. Has anyone here got one and if so where did they buy it? Sure it was a supermarket or department store like Argos or something. Any help appreciated! Cheers!

RE: Macro hack for Schneider 856

I contacted Schneider UK today and in a roundabout sort of way asked if there was a hack available to switch off Macro. I was contacted a few hours later by a, straight to the point, e-mail telling me there was no hack. I know they probably wouldn`t have just given it out anyway, but I told them that I was having problems playing it through my projector and that I`d heard switching off the Macro can help this problem. No joy!

You`re all missin the point here. G Roberts, what is the content of the trailer, set the scene for us mate. I would personally go with something like the theme from Total Recall or The Terminator, both by the excellent Brad Fiedel, if I`m not mistaken.

I work for Asda too mate and can only think you`ll be buying the Pacific 750 for the ability to disable Macrovision. Why else would you wanna buy it as it`s the same machine as the Schn 856?

Anyway, not too sure if the handset for the Rowa works but I might be able to do something about the actual handset for the Pacific. I`ll let you know. I`m pretty sure we`ve got one spare somewhere.

This runs on the same hack as the Pacfic models.

Open tray, type in 8421. A region select screen will appear. Now Press enter until desired region appears, or press until REGION ALL is displayed. Now close tray. Easy as that mate.

Quick question bud. Are there lip sync problems? I have the 855 and am thinking of returning it under their "3 year warranty" deal but am hesitant to do this if the same lip sync problems are still there. Have you noticed any problems mate?

Help with VCDs on Samsung 811

I`m having trouble playing them. I have it set to multi-region will this make a difference?? It says on the machine it plays them but I can`t get them to run, just keeps saying no disc. Is there a separate hack for this???

Schn.855 Audio probs.- help

Just purchased this player as a second player for bedroom. Hooked it up to the Pro-Logic T.V. in living room but I`m only gettin sound thro` the front left speaker. It`s not the T.V. as I hooked my main player back up and it works fine. Any ideas???

£189.99, according to the user manual, the display says No Disc. Will this mean it can be hacked, oh and there`s no NTSC/PAl switch on the back.

I tried R2 Something Ab.M. and there were no lip s. probs. Also tried Shrek R2 Phantom Menace R2 and Patriot R1 All played without said problems.

Woolies seem to be a haven for dim-witted cashiers. A mate of mine picked up Enter The Dragon(Un-cut) and it had a 9.99 sticker on it.But when it scanned for 16.99 the cashier just voided the transaction and gave him it for 9.99. She didn`t even check it out. Why is it when you go into one of these high street shops they don`t know there arse from there elbow. Are all the "specialists" disappearing??

I tried Something About Mary on this machine also and never got any lip-snyc probs.

1. Press Open on player with no disc in machine
2. Press Set-up on remote
3. Move along to the menu with VFD Display.
4. Press the number 3 button on remote(4 times)
5. This brings up a secret menu.
6. Move across to codes and highlight preferred region. Code 0 is multi-region.
7. Press Enter on remote, to confirm.
8. Press Open/Close on machine

Plays THe Patriot R1 fine and it`s RCE. Haven`t heard of any others not playin. Have you had lip sync probs? And can u post the web-site address for Schneider?

I work for Asda and tried one of my own R1 RCE titles on it tonight (The Patriot) It worked fine, so we can all assume that it plays them. Can someone please post a link to Schneider`s web-site. Cheers. P.S. Has anyone found "Secret Menu 2" yet??

R1 T2 definitely better, has three versions of movie and a couple of
extras more. R2 version has only the spec.edit. of movie.

I also work for Asda and, after giving a customer the hack when they bought the machine, was asked if it played RCE discs. Have you tried any yet on your machine. Cheers.

Personally mate I would pop down the local Asda as they have a Samsung M105 and Schneider 855 (£159 for Samsung- Multi region hack and the Schneider has been reduced from £149 to £99 and can also be hacked for multi-region). But wot do I know, I only work for them!!

I ordered mine on 29th and when I phoned today they told me that any orders shipped on 29th or 30th had problems. I was told to call back at weekend if I still don`t have it.
