OK this is easy,

I quite often wonder why people choose their user/nickname on forums so lets all give a quick explanation as to why we are called what we are.

Mine is quite boring, my name is Carl which allways used to get extended to Carlos. Then it was Carlos the Jackal and now its quite simply The Jackal or Jackal.
