Just been made redundant - any suggestions?
Hi,
I`ve just completed my last day at work after having been told yesterday that I am to be made redundant today. Needless to say I am a little pi**ed off. I don`t drink but I could murder a pint. Any suggestions re a good beer?
Thanks

Otherwise known as Weakbow ;) If you want a decent bitter give Spitfire, Speckled Hen or 6X a go. Those are my current favourites.

Come on everyone knows that that isn`t true.
Strongbow = 5.3%
Speckled Hen = 5.2%
Spitfire = 4.5%
and 6X = 4.3%
You bitter drinkers are all the same. If it aint a real ale then it must be s***/weak/girly.

I was actually comparing it to other ciders. Blackthorn is stronger and Strongbow itself isn`t 5.3% on draught, it`s 4.5%. Bitter and cider aren`t really comparable drinks in terms of effect. I mostly drink cider in the summer, but I`m a bitter drinker at heart having worked for Bass in a previous life. However, Bass went to s*** when Interbrew got involved. best Bass I ever had was in Italy, where it was sold as CHarington Pale Ale at a fraction of the price of all the other beer. P***ed my mates off no end that, as I had a cheap holiday.

A nice sweet and sour chickin washed down with a Tennents Super.......
Had to laugh at this:-
Also known as the Purple Tin. Usually found in the dead frozen hands of a Tramp and being drunk by a Chav, a Jakey or a Ned in front of their local corner shop or in the local playground in the evening.
A high quality alchoholic beverage, far superior to Wifebeater in all but taste, alchoholic content (ok, maybe not ABV, but who buys by that??) and image. Usually means that the Tramp, Chavs, Jakeys or Neds have either begged, borrowed or stolen the means to buy it.
At one stage the tipple of choice for the discerning Harold Ramp due to it`s massive 9% ABV, it has now somewhat fallen from grace, in favour of White Lightning. Nevertheless, it retains its uncanny ability to stupefy after just half a can. I`ll have a pint of `what the f**k are you looking at?` aka `Uri Geller` aka `liquid nobhead`. :D

Told yesterday and redundant today?
