POLL: What Nationality Would You Say You Are?
Anyway I would say I am British first, but I was born in England and have Indian roots (and I hope Andy Murray wins tmw! :P)

I`m a Scotsman first and foremost. But I`m a Brit, too. :)

I`m English (half Scottish, so I recognise that too), but I`m glad that I can share a common identity with my Welsh, Scots and Northern Irish neighbours as British.
(To clarify, I do know that NI isn`t in GB, just wanted to be inclusive. :))

I always put Welsh on my forms but am also happy to call myself British. Does irritate me though when people class the `whole` country as England

I have to go with a normal 95+% British, I don`t use the English tag as a rule, but lines can get blurred.
I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.

I was watching Question Time when the whole Scotland/England argument was going on (football and Andy Murray`s comments) and it strikes me as very odd this rift exists when we are all from the same country! <says in naive way>Yeh - I watched this Question Time too. I didn`t know the "rift" was so bad - it just seems so petty... :(
And I`ll be the first to admit I don`t know much about football - but that seems to be where all this England/Scotland divide stems from.... Why isn`t there a "United Kingdom" or "Great Britain" side, instead of splitting US (the whole country) up....? :/

V. Good poll and something I always talk about. When asked my nationality, I always say English and it p***es me off slightly when i dont get that option.
I dont feel British as I dont feel there is that kind of National Identity. I think its also, possibly, a reaction to how strongly the rest of the home nations identify with their respective countries.
And, yeah, Hulk, there are a million and one reasons why we dont have a British football team. Each of the home nations is capable of fielding their own team for a start, but the biggest reason is money. England are on eof the best teams in the world. The others arent, so it would devalue the footballing brand.
Plus, the side would be, essentially, England with a different name as there are no players that would get into the side (with the occasional exception of a player like Best or Giggs), so the other countries probably wouldnt be that interested.
What im listening to (if youre interested)
