Don`t you just love EBAY Noobs grrr-----UPDATE-----

MADTheOgster (Elite Donator) posted this on Sunday, 7th May 2006, 16:24

the wife sold a gold chain on ebay & tbh, it went for "good" money, more than we where expecting, but as any ebayer knows thats the way the cookie crumbles, the wife rarely uses a reserve & similar items have gone for buttons.

anyway, we send the chain out, & bear in mind the weight & length of the chain is accurately described, even to the point of the grammage being shown in reply to a question, then out of the blue the buyer simply negs us, now, tbh, i`m going to eat my words from previous ebay posts, but i`m glad my wife had not yet left the buyers feedback (i normally leave it as soon as payment clears, my wifes a bit more "tardy")

the buyer hadn`t even bothered to let us know she had a problem ! just said we`d "blown" the picture up to make it look bigger :/ as the wife sells jewelery on ebay i got her a camera with a 1cm macro, so it can usually pick out the hallmarks etc, so what you get is a very clear picture, not blown up, just the clear raw image,,,,, this is the item in question. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=86078&item=8929975587
obviously i negged the silly cow back, & replied to her feedback about the image being manipulated, & the buyer actually sent an email back saying
Quote:
I even put the chain up to the picture on the PC and there was a big difference!!!!

so, despite the fact the length & weight where stated in the description, she receives the item then holds it upto the monitor for size comparison ????????????? am i missing something or is this the most stupid bint EVER, i answered back saying
Quote:
erm, thats got to be THE most stupid statement i have ever heard, so what your saying is you can get a size ratio from holding it upto the screen ? so if you have a 32" screen you would then logically expect the chain to be one inch thick & four foot long, stop showing your ignorance, if you really think i have mislead you apply to ebay & paypal & start a dispute, please, pretty please, i`d just love to draw attention to your incompetence...

yes, i know i`m supposed to trying to "chill" my attitude but some of these people make my eyes bleed.

next time i suppose the wife should use a 5-10cm macro then the image would be all blurry & hard to make out :/ then when she gets 5pence for the item we`ll just refuse to sell it ??????? grrrr f***ing noobs

i wouldn`t mind, i don`t even use the account, it`s the wifes now !!!!!!!! yet i seem to have to deal with all the s***.

EDIT= for completest purposes i`ll include our full correspondence below

my initial responce to the neg.

Quote:
the chain was EXACTLY as described, & the length was included in the description, it`s noobs like you that give ebay a bad reputation.

as for your accusation that the photo was somehow manipulated ??????? (ie blown up) it was taken with the same camera that took the photo of the previous chain you bought from us !!! it`s not my fault i have a good camera that take good pictures (IT`s a good macro by the way, thats how you `do` clear & close photo`s) I would suggest you stay away from ebay if i where you & maybe try again WHEN YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.....

buyers response.

The length was as described it was the thickness that was misleading, I even put the chain up to the picture on the PC and there was a big difference!!!! and I will not stay away from ebay as I do know what Im doing I just will not be buying from you again! Its people like you who put people off buying on ebay.Your camera must be good if it can make things look thicker than they really are?

to which my last response was.

the camera is a standard Ricoh, with 1cm macro, the photo was not retouched or blown up, if you use any such accusation again i will pursue it with both my solicitor & ebay, frankly you simply do not know what you are talking about, if i "made" it look bigger than it was how did i do it ? and saying "I even put the chain up to the picture on the PC and there was a big difference!!!! " erm, thats got to be THE most stupid statement i have ever heard, so what your saying is you can get a size ratio from holding it upto the screen ? so if you have a 32" screen you would then logically expect the chain to be one inch thick & four foot long, stop showing your ignorance, if you really think i have mislead you apply to ebay & paypal & start a dispute, please, pretty please, i`d just love to draw attention to your incompetence.....

yeah yeah, i know i went a bit OTT but it just really got my goat.

Nah, you were bang on. Let`s just hope she doesn`t try to buy a car off ebay, she`ll take one look at the picture and think "how the hell am I going to get the shopping in that tiny thing!"

your attitude stinks and your incompetence and immaturity shows now put your dummy back in and go away!

my reply.

does that mean you don`t ACTUALLY have either a comprehensible argument or leg to stand on ? as for my attitude, your unwarranted neg says much more about you than me, why not join in the public thread i linked to ? if you think your right put your argument across, this is your chance for an unbiased opinion.

ps, it`s your dummy not mine ;)

have a nice day....

Looks like you had a similar problem here.

Mind you what was you sold that on roadie_94 accused you of not selling?

I always look at the neg feedback, and a lot of the times it`s always something really stupid and pathetic such as, it came 2 days later out of it`s estimated delivery.

yup, but once that guy realised the description was acurate he withdrew his feedback, as for roadie, he won some scrap gold (they either weigh it in or repair the items) after 2 weeks & 5 emails he never answered back once or paid, & you can tell he`s a bulls***ter, not only his feedback, but the fact that i negged him for not paying on the 19th, then on the 20th he negged me & added the bulls*** about refusing to sell :/ ask youself, if i`d refused to sell, would i neg him & thus draw attention to it & provoke a neg back ? i might be mad, but i`m not particularly stupid (no need to reply to that ;) )

unfortunately it`s one of the things you have to put up with on a venue like ebay, but i`d say an average of 99.6% of ebayers are A-OK so i`ll put up with the odd idiot or noob, it`s the spammers & scammers you realy worry about.

:o ....this woman should go into stand-up comedy!! There was nothing wrong with your listing imo - everything was on the level. And she should have e-mailed you first if she was unhappy (before negging) to try and sort things out. I don`t think anyone should just leave a neg, without contacting the buyer/seller first with the problem - common sense really (....probably what this woman was missing ;) ).

Yeah, I usually leave feedback as soon as payment clears - but to be honest, if they are a noob, or have a feedback of about 20 or less, I usually wait until they`ve left feedback first. I`m not saying it`s right, but (as you have experienced!) unfortunately there are some idiots about.... :(
