Still I only bought my player 2 months ago so getting it rehacked will cost me button`s, it might be a good sign anyway, as I was going to part exchange it with the same company for a 705, so either way I am going to be without it for a week or 2.

Hey steady on old chap, take a chill pill relax and tell us.... what film is it you got and what do you think made it notwork ??. I.E. is your 505 hardware chipped to see all regions or is it by the remote ??

I too have got " The Patriot" coming and that too has got the special treatment to F***k us up, but my machine uses the remote and no hardware alteration, so i think i might get away with it ???

We all knew that the Studios wouldn`t bend over and take it like a man when we started importing R1 disks over R2. Warners have the most to lose from the import trade because like with the videotapes they`ve invested many Dinars in duplication plant in Europe. I`m not entirely sure about the state of affairs with DVDs, but I recall that the majority of VHS tapes have always been duplicated at Warner`s plant. Most of the other studios used to have their tapes struck by Warners, so I suspect the same might be true of the DVDs. They might be authored by other studios` facilities but I`ll bet the disks themselves are stamped by Warners.

If anyone has knowledge to the contrary, I`ll defer to them.

The 505 is not region 0, it auto detects the region once, when it is asked again bingo region 2 sir!

Daz I asked when I bought the player that if it had problems player disks, and Hitachi released a new software, and MRM hacked this new software, they would rehack my machine for cost of postage as it is covered in the 12 month garuntee.
